Southwest Forest Products is a progressive lumber and transportation company. Its products and services include spruce, pine and fir industrial timber products without grade stamps, cut stock, new pallets, used pallets, pallet repair programs, bulk and bagged mulch, including private label and freight services. The company, as it is known today, was started in August of 1984 by Steve and Luanne Van Der Toorn as Dependable Pallet. In its early years, Dependable Pallet was a used pallet repair company. By mid-1985, the company had secured 80-90 percent of the used pallet repair business in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Within a few short years, the company expanded its services to include buying, selling, refurbishing, and repairing pallets.
