Richard S. Zimmerman, M.D., is a neurosurgeon at Mayo Clinic’s Arizona campus. Dr. Zimmerman focuses his clinical practice on surgical options to treat severe facial pain (trigeminal neuralgia); and microsurgical treatment of hemifacial spasm, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and carotid artery disease. Dr. Zimmerman is a leading member of Mayo's Comprehensive Epilepsy Program, where he provides individualized surgical options for patients with seizures including: minimally invasive laser ablation, responsive neurostimulation (RNS), vagus nerve stimulation (VNS), intracranial monitoring, and surgery for brain tumors, including minimally invasive laser ablation.
