My wife and I received a letter showing an out standing balance of $25 from a previous doctors visit. We called to inquire about the outstanding balance and if need be pay it. When my wife and I inquired we found that it was for a no show appointment in which my wife had to be taken to urgent care the day before (Sunday) when they were not open. We left a message that she would not be available to make it to the appointment. Later we spoke with the doctors office who assured we would not be billed for a no show visit as we had left a message on the answering service. We then explained that to the lady who answered the phone call from “Platinum Medical Billing and Consulting”, who said that it didn’t matter to her what happened, either we pay it before we got off the phone (Not giving us a chance to contact the doctors office) or she would put it on our credit. We asked for a supervisor and she stated “I’m the owner and I answer to no one”. We then asked for the name of her company in which she refused to give us the name. It was not until we called the doctors office to find out who they contracted with that we did learn the name of the company and that this lady was in fact the owner. We notified this lady that we would be filling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in which she said she “Go right a head; I don’t care since I don’t contract with them”. Since then we have switched Doctors. The first thing we asked about when looking for a new doctor was if they contracted with Platinum Medical Billing Consulting as we will not support business in which anyone conducts themselves so unprofessionally.
