I stated going to Papago 20 ye...

I stated going to Papago 20 years ago and for the next ten years they have always done a perfect job chroming parts for my Harleys. They re-chromed my exhaust in 1999 when I did some fabrications to it and after 12 years It showed some age so I decided to get some quotes' on redoing it again. Papago was not the cheapest but I knew the shop, so I dropped it off and was told two weeks. During that time I was told by friends that I should not deal with them there quality is bad now. I know the shop is dirty and the customer service is bad but the quality of the work was for me in the past was outstanding so I did not listen to anyone..... The parts were done a day late but I still had some time for bike week but when I went to pickup the parts on Friday there were issues, Cliff said he would fix them by the following Tuesday. I called on Tuesday and was told that they were not done and they would be done the next day. This scenario of the next day went on every day for two more weeks. I missed bike week and other rides, I was polite on the phone every day when others would have lost it by now. I got a call that the parts were done finally, however when I looked at the parts my friends were correct.... I have never seen chroming done so bad, there were sections that had no chrome and shadows of stains in the chrome as well as buff lines in the chrome that are permanently there. I had three choices at this time, One ask to have it redone and go thru the daily calls for who knows how long and hope for the best, Two pay the $300.00 take my parts and leave discussed, Three take the tail pipe and beat the hell out of him and end up in jail.... I chose number Two even thou I really wanted number Three..

If you are thinking of going there for any plating work I am telling don't... find somewhere else.. They don't understand that if you are re-plating something its because it cant be replaced and it means a lot to you.

Bad quality and Nasty service

I had Pinball machine parts chromed and the buffing "grain" was vay rough (like the used emory or sandpaper) and in all different drirections. No pride of workmanship! They said it would take a week so I called in a week & they said not done yet. This went on for over a month, yet I was polite and patient. Some guy yelled at me to stop calling. When I got the parts the old guy was drinking a Budweiser beer. He didn't care about the quality and treated me like I was an annoyance. He took my money just the same. I tried to support local biz but they don't deserve a business license. Steer clear!

Absolutely the worst. You might as well just burn your money and throw away your parts. They lost one of my parts and the quality of the parts they didn't loose was horrible.

Terrible!!!

I can't stress this enough...do not take anything to these people. They use to do good work, but not any more. They kept my metal parts (to be chromed) for over a month and when I finally got to pick them up, they damaged one piece and the workmanship on the other pieces were embarrassing. Yet, the lady up front seemed ok with charging and giving me these parts that looked terrible. One piece they pitted and broke some of the welds off. It was suppose to be chrome, but they handed it back to me pitted and scratched. These parts were custom and now I have to spend more hours reversing their damage and them finding another company to chrome this piece. Any suggestions? I asked the owner about all these negative comments and he kind of played them off and acted like you can't please everyone. I am here to tell you that their standards in workmanship has hit an all time low.

There's a reason all these reviews are so negative ... Papago Plating is the biggest insult to the chrome plating business I could ever imagine.

I dropped off about 80 pristine parts from a vintage bike I have in museum condition. I was going to dress the bike in chrome and never imagined someone could do so much damage to new parts. My order was delayed 5 times. The final time I called the rude jerk answering the phone just said "Well I need to redo a couple parts. Do you want them right or not?" Really?!? I guess the money agreed to pay for the plating was for crappy quality work. Sorry! How silly for me to think that I would get first quality work done on time.

Unfortunately, customer service wasn't the worst of it. Papago absolutely destroyed all the parts. A can of spray paint would have been 100 times better. I have deep gouges in all the parts. The finish is pitted worse than Tommy Lee Jones face. Wheel marks, hazing, copper bleed, just the worst of the worst. These were aluminum parts, so I might not even be able to have someone else fix them. They don't even clean the parts, which shows they have total disregard for quality, How can you return a part to a customer if you haven't even cleaned it enough to see the part? When I started inspecting my parts, I immediately started stacking them on the counter and explaining why the work was unacceptable. The lady kept telling me that it was the best they could do. I was being nice and she was being nice, I just wanted the parts fixed. Then the old rude fart walks by and exclaims "I'm done with them. Cut his bill in half and let him go." The lady took more than 60% off my bill and I just wanted to get out of there.

I could go on and on about the deplorable results, but I think you get my point.

I have every intention of suing them for the thousands of dollars in damages.

Do yourself a favor and avoid Papago Plating at all expenses.

Run away!! I dropped off so...

Run away!!

I dropped off some 20mm shells to get chromed for our Squadron and they completely destroyed them. I called them when I was told the shells would be completed and they explained they would not be ready. I continued to call them every few days explaining I needed them asap. 3 weeks after the shells were supposed to be completed I was told only a few would be ready. Once I get out there I found none of the shells completed except the fact that they cut them down to nothing. He explained how it was the ony way he could get the work done in such a short time even though he didn't do any work besides destroy the shells. If you express your dislike of the service, he just says tough and won't do anything to fix it. There is no customer service here and if these people can't even chrome a shell, I feel sorry for those who need actual work done.

The customer service here is, ...

The customer service here is, hands down, the worst I've ever had. I brought in the chrome of a classic muscle car. They did such a bad job with the chrome that I didn't think I should pay full price for it. When I complained about the shoddy craftsmanship, neither the guy who'd done the work or the woman behind the counter gave a cr4p. Then held the pieces hostage and made me pay for them.

No way can I put these back on my customer's car as they are; I'll have to pay someone else to make them look good. If you care at all about quality and/or customer service, go somewhere else.

terrible work

I've used this service twice and have to had the parts reworked both times with unsatisfactory final results. I should have learned the first time not to return. I won't go back again.
