Do not use this appraiser! This equine appraiser was hired to determine fair market value for my beloved horse, the subject of a medical negligence case involving fatality. The appraisal contained major mistakes, omissions and misinterpretations. Only four bullet points comprised his “Pertinent Data of the Equine” and all were incorrect — markings, age, breed, and even the registered name. The appraiser stated that he attempted to find comparable sales — but none were provided. A board certified veterinary surgeon stated this appraisal was "absurd" and even the insurance company shunned the low-ball value stated by the appraiser. The appraiser's own biography, along with a generous assortment of certificates and reference Letters comprised 20 pages of the appraisal — yet missing were the horse's USEA competition records with an Olympian who imported, trained and competed the horse before selling him to me. There was no mention of the horse’s pedigree, which includes a long list of world renowned champions in the disciplines of eventing, jumping and dressage. This was a bogus appraisal.
