Very sad

I'm currently looking for a new pediatrician for my three little ones, six, five and one. The lack of concern and compassion this office has towards children is mind blowing. Office staff hacking in my face when I take my sick child in, then the doctor doesn't even read our chart, she tells me to give benadryl for a bite and doesn't even address the 102.5 fever. Its like rolling the dice when we walk in. Will we leave with additional infections, missed diagnosis, impatient nurses. Not sure if this place is supposed to have a rotating door there are so many new faces all the time. Its amazing this is a children's service in the US in 2014. Disgusted!

Horrible, horrible, horrible. ...

Horrible, horrible, horrible.

I have been trying my best to like this practice for almost 18 months, and there is just nothing to like. Dr. Noel was wonderful and initially rounded in the hospital when my daughter was born. However, he has since left the practice, as did the wonderful NP, and new doctors continue to cycle in and out. You never know who will be available to see. The office staff has an impersonal and lackluster attitude. I'd be willing to overlook these issues if they didn't have such long wait times even when there isn't a single other patient in the waiting room. When they finally manage to get you in the room, they take another lot of time for the nurse to see you, then another chunk of time waiting for the doctor. I have never waited less than 20 minutes in between the nurse and doctor. Heaven forbid you're there for immunizations... AFTER the doctor finally comes and goes, then you wait for another 20-30 minutes for the nurse to return with the shots. Sorry, but shots are bad enough for a baby, but poking and messing with a baby cooped up naked in a little room for well over an hour is no way to start shots. It has never taken less than 1 and 1/2 hours to get shots.

They also claim to have same day sick appointments. The one time my young infant daughter woke up with an extremely high fever and was wailing from discomfort and struggling to breath from congestion, I called exactly when they opened only to realize they don't answer the phone for about 10-15 minutes after that. They offered an appointment for late that afternoon with the NP. That was it. When I implored as to any other option or another doctor in the practice or any chance of coming in and waiting, the receptionist was extrmely rude and basically told me take it or leave it and deal with it. Sorry, but I couldn't make my baby wait another 8 hours to be seen or for relief. I ended up taking her somewhere else for help.

They also boast about having opposite side of the waiting room for sick kids, but the movie room is on the side for the well kids. Yeah...figure that one out. Parents just let their sick kids go right in. It's pointless. The check in counter is also about a foot away from the activity center for the sick kids so apparently you can stand there and try to keep your childs hands off of it while you check in. Yet another over site.

The final straw for me was when I called today for an appointment. My daughter has been suffereing from a cold that briefly improved, but after some unintended exposure now has pink eye, and a runny nose, and signs of an ear infection, and worsening cough and congestion. I called at 3:30 and was told it was too late for a sick appointment because they close at 5. (Again with an attitude). I then tried to make an appointment for the following day and was snidely informed that if my child was sick then I have to wait and call back in the morning and try to get in then. I was speechless. I had them on the phone and couldn't even make an appointment for my child because she was sick. Does that make sense?

Please do not bother with this horrible practice. Go ANYWHERE else.
