24 Hour Fitness, located on East Camelback Road in Phoenix, provides a variety of fitness equipment and activities for its members. It is a member of the 24 Hour Fitness group, a privately owned and operated fitness center chain with headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif. Founded in 1983, 24 Hour Fitness has more than 3 million members and 350 clubs in 16 states and three countries in Asia. Members have access to a range of excercise and fitness equipment, including free weights, machines, saunas, pools, whirlpools, steam rooms, racquetball courts and basketball courts. It also provides members access to a variety of speciality services, including nutrition and recipes, personal training, group exercise, team sports and corporate wellness. The company sponsors many charitable events and organizations, including the 2004 - 2008 U.S. Olympic Teams, American Cancer Society and the Magic Johnson, Andre Agassi and Lance Armstrong Foundations.
