Of course U-control flying see...

Of course U-control flying seem to be going out of fashion. I have been hearing this for about 10 years. The R/C market is, of course more profitable for store owners. So when I went into Frank's for the first time I didn't expect too much. Not bad inventory if you are into R/C stuff, but the prices were barley cheaper than The Hobby Bench and the staff at Frank's is not the most knowledgeable. There was a shoe box full of old .049 stuff, most of it was worthless. My interest was mostly nostalgic so when I asked the price of an ancient Wen-Mac engine I was shocked to hear him say I could have it for $20!! It was probably a garage sale item picked up for 10cents. Remember Frank, you could have sold it for cheaper and at least got SOMEHTING for it. Remember: Part of the pie is better than NONE of the pie. Now that box of junk wil sit there forever and you lost a potentially good customer. And two 5inch propellers and a piece of wire for $5.00 ?! Please!

After just getting into rc tru...

After just getting into rc trucks and hearing both goods and bads. I took a trip there. They do have alot of product. They do not go that extra mile to help you when you have questions. My girlfriend and I brought my rc truck in and asked about 15 questions. I recieved answers to about 6. The younger guy i talked with at the rc counter on the west side of the store looked at me while i was asking quesions like i had two heads. He had no real helpful answer for me and told me there are alot of forums to read before i try getting into rc trucks heavily. I asked about products and comparing others on the wall and he told me these are good ad so are these. I asked why the price difference and he said i dont tag them. Yet they were the same product, just different plastic bags. Even from the same company logo. I like the older gentlemen at the front desk(think the owner) he always has a smile. But again never very customer service oriented.

WARNING ! . . . WARNING ! . . . WARNING !

WARNING ! Do not use cash when purchasing anything at FRANK's over $10 (under this amount they charge a service fee anyway). By using your credit card you have automatic Return Protection that gaurantees you the right to return anything for any reason for up to 60 days. Don't be intimidated or hood-winked by these guys. It worked well for me. Frank's Hobby House in Phoenix, AZ is a private company categorized under Crafts. Our records show it was established in 1981 and incorporated in Arizona. Current estimates show this company has an annual revenue of $1 to 2.5 million (doubt that) and employs a staff of approximately 5 to 9. Bernard "Bernie" Frank is listed as the president and Martin Frank (his son) is listed as the owner. In other words, Bernie is NOT just a cashier.

its ok

I have been going to franks since it was way up on cave creek. i got out of the hobby for a about 5 years, come back to get some up to date RC car stuff. you can find what your looking for. just make sure you dont have to ask the guy behind the counter there in the car dept. very rude and uncaring. i got more that $1000 in stuff in the last month and he doesnt even acknowledge your there. I have done better with online stores and Franks is within 2 blocks of my house. everyone else there is very helpful and courteous. like the guys in planes. if your into rc cars and want to stop by, make sure you know what your looking for and dont need to ask questions. and hope that what you need is not behind the counter. might take a while. However I will remain a good customer and support my local industry.

Great prices and service.

Frank's staff is very knowledable and prices are lower than other shops. They carry a good selection of planes, engines, radios, and accessories. I can only speak to model airplane related items that I have purchased, but I'm sure other R/C models and hobby prices are also good.

R/C GREATNESS !!!

This place is great ! That guy in the car department with the tattoo's really know his stuff . I was in there one day and I heard a customer call him the legend now I know why . We brought in my kids old tamiya car that had been down for a couple years this guy had it going in just a few minutes and it didnt cost me a fortune ! the younger guy in cars does really do some wicked paint jobs ! he painted a car for me and it was amazing , awesome detail for a reasonable price . As for the old guys in planes once you get to know them they are pretty cool ! would you rather by planes from some punk or from a guy who has been there and flew and worked on planes in the real world ! They have some really cool stories !! That Tim guy thats there on saturdays is ok you just dont want to catch him on one of his off days ( you know one of those quiet I.T, guys that ready to snap at any time ) If his shirts tucked in your ok , if its not ask someone else for help . With that being said I wouldnt shop any where else !!

Awesome store!

Best place to go for RC car parts! The big guy that's always there, Patrick, is really awesome, but if you go there on Saturday's there's this young guy named Michael who is realy cool. He really goes the extra mile to give you the best customer service! Apparently he is also really good at painting the lexan bodies for the cars as well. Stay away from the grump named Tim.

BAD Business

These people were so rude and dumb, i went in and not one of them in there could help me find what i was looking for, or even knew about what i was looking for. also i went in once before and bought an airplane the whole time i was laughing becuase the old man that was showing me different airplanes was just farting the whole time. when i got home my airplane was broken in the box so i took it back and they gave me store credit but i went back the NEXT DAY to spend my store credit they said they didnt remember me and i didnt have any credit! BULLSHIZZZZ!!! they should be shut down and everything in the store should be given to me!
