Rude and left residue on carpet

2 weeks before Christmas 2009, Burns came to clean my carpets, the tech was done in less than 2 hours and the carpets looked great. But they took 48 hours to dry, which had I not been working full time for a school at one of the busiest times of the year, I would have asked them to come back out. However, after coming home from work the second day, the carpets were dry and I let it go.

In February, I noticed dark gray near each doorway leading into a carpeted room. Being on Spring Break this week, I finally had a chance to call and get it taken care of. Paul the owner was very rude to me on the phone claiming that it could not have been residue and that it was normal wear and tear. The light tan carpets are charcoal gray after 2 months? That is not normal. Then when I asked him to come out and take a look at the carpets, he told me that it was too far to drive just to look at the carpets, to which I responded that it should be worth his company's reputation to look ad see what is wrong with them. Then he either hung up on me or we got disconnected.

I called back and got the receptionist Tina, who was also very rude saying that it was impossible for their chemicals to leave a residue. I asked her if she would come out and just look at the carpets to which she responded, "If we looked at everyone's carpets who called after 2 months, we would be out of business." I responded, "So you have a lot of people with residue and dirt after two months?" She said no, but "People live in their houses you know." Really, people live in their houses? She said that if it was residue, it would be dirty in the first 2-3 days. I told her I could not even go on my carpet for 2 days because they were still wet. She said then it was my fault for not calling sooner, as they claim a 1 hour dry time. Who has ever had their carpets cleaned and dried in an hour? It always takes longer than they say. She finally agreed to send someone out, but when it was convenient for them, not around my schedule. NeedlessI will not be calling Burns again.
