Office staff totally incompetent. They called me by another patients name. Additionally, they attached someone else's private medical record to my online account. I could view social security, insurance, medical record, etc.

When I called to alert them, they basically called me a liar and said I could not see the other persons record. When I started reading the information to them the only response I got was "I can't help you with that."

The MOST incompetent and rude office staff I have ever come across! I was referred to this office over my concern that my child may have a cancer and I was a bit freaked out. This office knew what docs were needed to complete the appointment and could get it from the referring physician. Apparently this was not something they felt they needed to do. I waited nearly an hour just to be seen, Then, a woman, with quite a larger attitude than the one I already had, purporting to be the office manager followed me down to the room to wait for the doctor, while I have my child in hand, telling me that it was my job to get these documents harassing me and giving me uncalled for attitude, in front of my 7 yr. old nonetheless. This was completely unacceptable and grossly uncalled for. I did make mention that I do medial malpractice for a living which seemed to scare the doctor. He wouldn't even see us! Now, why would he be afraid of that term unless there is reason for it! Incompetence.

Beware! This is a gun free zone! They have no guard and they won't "permit" you to protect yourself. They do not state online, or when you make an appointment, that you must leave your protection at home.

Do not schedule a surgery with them if you are not 101% certain you can be there beforehand. Otherwise you will be hounded by a collection agency immediately even if the reason for not being there was legitimate and even if (g-d forbid) if you were almost killed in car accident. They (most-likely) would send it off to collections- $238.00.

If it was possible to give a rating of - 5 stars I would do it. I have been going to Affiliated Dermatology for many years. I had a mole removed recently. I had to schedule a surgery. When I went in for the surgery I was told that I had to pay UP FRONT. I have an excellent insurance and have never had to do this before. When I questioned this, the girl at the desk (Shelly) was obnoxious. She said she would cancel the surgery. Since when does a front desk Nazi have the decision making capability to cancel a surgery for the Doctor? I called later to talk to someone and the call was not returned. Very poor customer service. Also check all your charges to make sure they are not over charging you. The insurance company allows a certain amount for each procedure.

After reading the good reviews...

After reading the good reviews this dermatology office had received online, I thought I would give them a call when I needed to have a "mole" removed which was causing some irritation. I was prepared with the online patient forms when I arrived so I was seen very quickly which was a nice start to my visit. The doctor was very courteous and knowledgeable and after I explained what I wanted done, he very quickly proceeded to remove the "mole". Right after he removed it, laser in hand, he asked me about another mole, "while he was there.." I said sure, even though it wasn't causing any problems, then a third mole. I left the office within 15 minutes of my arrival with three small bandaids on. A couple of weeks later, I received an invoice. I nearly fell on the ground. I went in for a simple procedure which was partially covered by my insurance, and I received a bill for all the additional extras he talked me into, plus lab tests for each one. What I thought was going to cost me less than $150 is now $700. I tried calling to dispute the fact that I never wanted or approved any of the additional work needless to say to have the samples sent off to the lab for testing. The doctor made it sound like he was doing me a favor for the 30 seconds of extra laser work. They refused to budge and I have refused to pay for the services that were not approved, so now they have turned it over to collection. The collection fees, it is now up to about $1,000 and negatively impacting my credit. Please take my advice, avoid Affiliated Dermatology and their shady business practice. They are not looking for long term clients, simply an opprotunity to milk your insurance and send you off to collection.
