They recently charged me $250 for a tuneup and oil change which they definitely did not perform. Within less than 48 hours and with very little driving after leaving the shop I closely checked everything and found that I had the same old oil, oil filter and the same tuneup parts. I was also lied to about the condition of my transmission. The shop owner convinced me to not have it serviced. He said the fluid level was one quart low and that he added one quart. Instead of trusting his word I immediately drove my van enough to get the transmission fluid hot. I did a proper fluid check and it was still one quart low. If I had trusted his word I could have damaged my transmission. UPDATE: The Better Business Bureau has informed me that inspite of a written reminder, Ace Muffler has still not responded to my complaint. I filed my complaint more than 14 days ago. I think the failure to respond should be interpreted as an admission of guilt. Don't take my word for what happened. Ace Muffler is repeating the facts. UPDATE: The Better Business Bureau has just informed me that Ace Muffler and Auto Repair at 3401 W McDowell Rd. in Phoenix has still not answered my complaint. Don't take my word for what happened. They have just confirmed every word of my complaint. The failure to answer doesn't surprise me. I filed my complaint with the BBB because I have that right and because I think the public should always be alerted about bad business. I never thought they had enough class to answer. A business that is capable of stealing from a customer is not the type that will be concerned about a BBB rating. UPDATE: Today I did another check over my engine and I found that in addition to not doing the promised repairs, they also disconnected the EGR Valve hose. That hose was connected when I put my vehicle in that shop.
