The Union League of Philadelphia is a nonsectarian and nonpartisan private club, located in Philadelphia. Its membership comprises more than 3,000 men and women between the ages of 21 and 98 years, who represent a wide variety of backgrounds and professions, and are Philadelphia s leaders in the realms of business, education, religion, arts and health care. Founded in 1862 as a patriotic society to support the policies of President Abraham Lincoln, it has hosted United States presidents, heads of state, industrialists, entertainers and visiting dignitaries from around the globe. Spread out over eight floors, the club offers various facilities for members, including fine dining at its three restaurants, overnight accommodations, executive fitness center, library, barber shop and more than 15 meeting rooms for banquets, meetings, conferences, parties, weddings, birthdays and retirement dinners.
