a response to that review

Well if I was you, I would not take that person's review serious at all. How can you rely on what somebody says that goes to a neighborhood bar and orders a drink that cost $12.50 a real airhead and obviously blind as a bat. There is no free pour at Sheba's, each drink even if you are ordering a Long Island Iced Tea, each bottle that tilts in your drink, you are charged. You need to get out more often. As for people looking for your music in a book, you cannot read either? I laugh at you, you think if you hand the KJ not DJ (as you referred to a KJ as, again who has a learning disability 5 slips, you are supposed to sing all of your songs you are seriously WRONG, you need to go to an OPEN MIC where you have allotments of time. You are right on one thing, the ladies room doors do need to be fixed. I am glad we live in a BIG city with plenty of things to do. You will not have to visit again. Besides when it gets BIG and it WILL you'll be back and your friend and I suppose your complaint then will be you and your friend had to stand. Go back to the karaoke you came from that looks for your songs in their one book, eat some food, lets you sing all of your songs together even if it is more than 3 and by the way if you have to splash in the bathroom, maybe you should try the men's room

Lowered Expectations

I waited a long time to try this place and got two friends to do it with me. I arrived first and despite overhearing that the drinks were about $3 (very affordable), ended up with a $12.50 drink that was more than enough for two people - the waitress obviously didn't know how to make it and it was very strong and nasty unlike the delicious drink I've had elsewhere. My friends show up only to find out that the kitchen closed early that day. Karaoke was that night and we listened to the same people sing over and over and back to back. A staff member convinced us to look through the book and we each picked out a song that we would do together like the other groups of friends before us. NOt only do we end up waiting while others who turned in songs after us went up and sang their hearts out but at some point are asked to find our own songs in the book even though they were both there as clear as day. No problem but we get up there and for some reason STILL have to wait while the learning disabled dj located our songs - we struggled through one that we thought would be fun but when it came time for the second one, suddenly the rules had changed and we weren't permitted to do song number two. It was a very disappointing night as far as the actual establishment and staff - very unprofessional and we felt slighted. Additionally the bathrooms were filthy and disgusting, smelling horrible, dirty floors and facilities and barely any toilet paper. AS if that weren't enough both of the stall doors are broken so if you can't go in with a friend I guess you get to flash and splash who ever is on the other side of the door. Overall if you have absolutely nothing to do and already live nearby, don't have to use the bathroom, don't expect courtesy or professionalism, or possibly even food and don't mind if the rules chage after you've sat through everyone ele's performance, maybe you'll like it. Fortunately this is a big city so there's so much else to do! I would rate this place as a jip!
