Joe was extremely knowledgeable, showed up on time and got the job done. I wish I had called Joe in the first place instead of letting the home inspector test for mold and hand me a report he couldn't explain.

I used MSI for mold testing and all I can say is Joe is a rockstar, he is efficient, timely, and follows through on execution. Plus, he's a really great guy! It's impossible not to have a good time talking with him. All of this combines to make an easy and actually enjoyable mold testing experience. Definitely go with MSI.

I have used MSI for mold remediation and testing. Joe is very knowledgable and dependable. He was always available to answer the many questions that I had. I would definitely recommend him.

Highly recommended. Joe and his technetions are honest, skilled, and most importantly reliable. When my teenage daughter was recently hospitalized for a suspected lung infection, the doctors were concerned about a possible mold exposure. They recommended that I have my home tested. Naturally this was very worrisome. Not only was my daughter sick, but could my other family members be exposed? The thought was overwhelming. I called M.S.I. and Joe came out the very next day! In this day and time that is so rare. He walked us through the assessment phase. He explained everything he was doing and he offered much reassurance. The day my air samples came in he called me with the results. Thankfully no mold! Its never something we want to think about but if you find yourself needing this type of service, this is the company you want to have on your team

I have used Joe several times and highly recommend him. We were selling our house and an area was found in the basement suspect of mold. I called Joe and he came out the next morning on a Saturday to take a look. He quickly provided me with an estimate and made arrangements to come the next week. He was very accommodating considering we had to move quickly for the house sale. He gave us a good deal and we really enjoyed working with him.

9:30 at night I came home to find that a pipe burst on the second floor of my home and completely flooded out my living room, dining room and basement. After getting the water shut off, I called 3 companies who claim to have emergency service and none of them called me back. Then I called MSI, got a live person, was immediately patched through to the owner Joe, and he and his crew arrived at my home within 30 minutes. They worked until 4 in the morning without any complaint and seemed happy to do it as they were all extremely friendly. My house was cleaned better than before they arrived, equipment was set up and all the necessary photos and documents were given directly to my insurance company. The adjuster from Travelers was so impressed he asked for Joe's number. I couldn't be happier with Joe and MSI and can clearly tell you that they deserve every award they win. Hopefully I will never need this type of service again, but at least I know now who to call especially because two of the three other companies never even called back and the other one called the following day.

It takes a lot to impress me as a customer, and Joe did that and more. We had a washing machine overflow on us and when I googled water damage restoration MSI came up and the reviews were sparkling. I called the number and within minutes Joe got back to me....at 11 PM. He was out the next day late afternoon with his crew after assuring me the wet carpet would be ok overnight. When Joe arrived the next day his expertise really showed. He immediately explained the process in detail making everything easy to understand and assured me everything would be ok. Joe is beyond professional. He was in constant contact with me and my insurance company, he took detailed step by step pictures and sent them over to my insurance company so they understood the process as well. Even my claim representative commented on how easy he made things. In the 3 days to come Joe did everything he stated he would do to get us back up to speed. Sucked all the water from the carpet, removed damaged drywall and carpet padding and then set more fans than I can remember to dry the carpet and subfloor properly. HE even explained why there were so many fans because he follows industry recommended code. He came back every 24 hours to move and reset the fans. After 3 days we were all set. Again, it takes a lot to overwhelm me as a customer in todays day and age, and Joe did not disappoint!

Nothing like having a major water disaster in your home, but there's nothing better than having it rectified by a great company. Joe with MSI answered our call, had his crew out to our home, on a Sunday no less, and dried the basement out and left it cleaner than it has ever been. Everything was documented for the insurance company and he made this seem painless. I can not be more satisfied and see why this company is rated so highly. We own a beautiful colonial in East Falls that we currently rent out. Another contractor doing work on the ceiling noticed some mold. We called several places and all gave us a similar quote to just "clean the air " as the air sampling tests came back only slightly above normal. But there was something just not right with the mold guys we talked to. They seemed like used car salesmen trying to sell us something we didn't need. We continued to search until we found MSI's website. We called and immediately, Joe the owner, called us back. We spoke to him in length and there was just a lot of experience and knowledge in him that made us feel comfortable. While the other guys tried to scare us into buying their services, Joe was calm and reassuring and while we understand the significance of mold, he just made us feel better about it all. This was all before we received a quote from him but we knew whatever the price, we would use him because he knew what he was doing. Not only that, Joe continued to call us and talk to us while he was on vacation in San Francisco. What a nice guy. He immediately got to work upon his return. It was a large project for us, the entire kitchen ceiling was opened and cleaned. Then Joe had a drywall guy close it up and repaint. And amazingly, all for thousands, yes thousands of dollars less than the first quotes we received from the other mold guys. This company is the best for all your water damage needs. We are so lucky to have found them and will definitely use them in the future and continue to recommend them. Thanks so much Joe and your team!

We used MSI for addressing a mold concern expressed by the prospective purchaser of our home. This firm came highly recommended from a number of sources. They were excellent in all aspects of the work they did for us. They were prompt, respectful, extremely neat, and very professional. MSI performed exactly what they promised to do in the contract. Two MSI employees worked diligently for five days and left the place looking like new. The owner showed up each and every day to check on the progress. His correspondence and his responsiveness throughout the process and after the job was completed was very prompt and professional. I'd definitely use this company again.

We had a leak in our basement but it took a long time to identify its source. Finally, we discovered that the water intrusion was the result of defective stucco and inadequate flashing around the windows of the house. We ended up with a mold problem in the area of the leak and I got a quote from a local company to remediate it. Since I had nothing to compare to the quote I got, I decided to call MSI when I saw that they had won multiple awards on Angie's List and on the "Best of Philadelphia" list. MSI came out and remediated the mold for us.



I called MSI and when Joe called me back, I explained my situation and advised him that I was mainly interested in getting a price comparison. Joe immediately cautioned me that there are no standard protocols in mold remediation and going with the cheapest price was not always the best strategy. He said that his policy was, simply put, OVERKILL. I assumed he was trying to prepare me for an estimate way above the amount of the first estimate I got (which was slightly over $4000). He was able to come out to my house within a day or two of our initial conversation which I really appreciated, because I was hoping to get the work done before the Thanksgiving holiday. When he arrived, I asked him if he thought it would be necessary to remove as much drywall (and whatever materials beneath the drywall that were damaged) as the other contractor proposed to do. Joe explained that his policy is to remove only visibly damaged drywall (and damaged materials underneath) as well as all of the drywall (and underlying materials, where necessary) that is a specified distance out from any visibly damaged drywall and then only remove more than that if necessary. He said that he does not like to quote his customers a price for work which may not need to be done.

Joe's estimate was 40% less expensive than his competitor's, and he spent a substantial amount of time explaining what he would be doing and answering all of my questions, so I hired him to perform the work. After speaking with him at length, it was abundantly clear, even beyond his educated, personable, and informative demeanor, that Joe was a man of great character and possessed of an honest work ethic. When his work crew arrived (exactly when they were supposed to!) to start the remediation, Joe accompanied them and took time to explain everything they would be doing and what materials they would be using to complete the job. In moving their equipment into my house, they were extremely respectful of my belongings and took great care to prevent any damage to anything in their way. The work was completed within the specified time frame and within the estimated cost. I could not be more impressed with the quality of service I received and the professionalism of Joe and his employees. They resolved what had been a stressful situation in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. While I hope not to have future water leakage problems, it is comforting to know that I have someone that I trust to call if I do. I heartily recommend Joe and MSI to anyone who needs mold remediation services!

Ive had several quotes with other mold companies and ran across this company based on the previous reviews. I must say the reviews was right this company quoted me at a fair price compared to the previous quotes i have gotten from other companies. they completed my job in three days, cleaned up after themselves, and the mold did not reurn. They also gave me recommendations for mold prevention. they arrived on time I had no hassle with this company trust me you will not be dissapointed trust me

We came home to find that we had several inches of water in our basement from a broken water pipe. I called several companies who never called back and then called MSI. I spoke to a LIVE person, (Joe Fiorilli), who came out to our property within 30 minutes and explained everything that had to be done. He even arrived before the plumber to fix the pipe. His crew came out an hour later, pumped all the water out, and then did the necessary cleaning. Joe then informed me that this type of loss was covered under my insurance policy. I had no idea that I was covered, but it was. He handled all of the paperwork, pictures and drying charts, while I had to do nothing. His crew was extremely clean and respectful, and Joe was truly the nicest person I ever dealt with. If you ever should need such a service, I fully recommend Joe and MSI. Thanks again.

Joe, the owner, is one of the best contractors with whom I have ever dealt. He is courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He also has great customer service skills.  Joe took my call personally when I telephoned. He arrived precisely on time, cleanly attired and ready to go. He explained the process in detail and began work promptly. He and his assistant had to move some things to access the problem area. They did it carefully and placed everything on a dropcloth. They set up an isolation area so we would not be exposed to the mold or dust from the area in which they were working and placed all of there equipment on dropcloths outside the area where they were working.

Their contract was detailed and clear. The work was completed timely. Joe explained that his estimate was preliminary and the final bill might be different depending on what he found inside the walls. At the conclusion of the job, we were informed that the job was more extensive than he thought originally but since it took the same length of time he expected there would be no additional charge. 

Consummate professionalism. I would certainly use this company again!!!

My wife's mother recently passed away. In the months leading up to her passing, my mother-in-law was incapable of caring for herself. Unfortunately, she lived alone and essentially occupied the first floor living area only. As such, the house rapidly fell into disrepair.



On the second floor, in both the front and rear bedrooms, the roof was leaking. In addition, there was a leak in the basement. Each of these leaks existed for some time. Not only did the water cause significant damage in each location, mold formed throughout the areas and needed to be treated.









One of the challenges with this particular job is that my wife and I had to coordinate from our home in Florida. Without being able to check in on the work frequently, we were concerned with any company we employed.



Mr. Fiorilli and his team of workers at MSI exceeded all our best expectations. Not only was Mr. Fiorilli courteous and responsive, but he made sure that we were updated on his findings and his progress on a daily basis through both phone and email communication. Mr. Fiorilli photographed and documented all the contents of the house - denoting each as salvageable or needing to be disposed of.



Considering the disrepair that the house had fallen into, and the damage throughout caused by the water damage and lack of upkeep, MSI did a fabulous job that was completed quicker than the originally expected time frame.



We would (and have!) recommend MSI to anyone needing this type of work.

I discovered mold in a closet on a Wednesday called M.S.I on Thursday; they came and took a look on Saturday, started work on Monday and finished on Wednesday. The work was done fast, efficient and clean. I barely knew they were there and they SHOWED UP when they said they were going too. If you have mold, getting rid of it isn't cheap no matter who does it but, you're going to find a more professional and knowledgeable company than M.S.I.

We discovered that our dehumidifier had been leaking in our basement for up to 2 weeks. The carpet was soaked. We found M.S.I. online and called the number and left a message around 11 PM. Joe returned our call minutes later! He told us he would be out in the morning to assess the damage. The next day, Joe arrived and told us the exact work that would need to be done (remove carpet padding, remove damaged drywall, dry and clean the carpet and treat everything) and gave us an estimate. He returned later that day with another individual and they went right to work. In a few hours, the wet padding and drywall had been removed and the fans were set up. Joe kept us informed of his progress throughout the day, like showing us the thermal imaging he used on the walls to check for water damage. Joe returned the next morning to check on the carpet. He checked the bacteria levels in the carpet using a cotton swab and high tech handheld device and the levels were normal, meaning we could keep the carpet! The carpet was still a little damp, so Joe said he would wait another day before cleaning it. When he returned, the carpet was cleaned and the fans were set up again. The legs of our furniture were also treated. A few days later, Joe made his final trip to our home to remove the fans. He recommended some people to replace the carpet padding and drywall.



Joe was extremely professional and courteous. He regularly kept us informed about what he was doing and why. Even though he was traveling over an hour to our home each time, he made several trips, including one time just to check on things. The initial estimate was right on. Joe was very nice to our son, who really enjoyed watching M.S.I. work. We are very pleased with the work that was done and happy that we chose M.S.I.

A few weeks later...



I was attempting some modifications to our shower valve without shutting off the main water supply beforehand. This resulted in water flowing behind our shower wall into the kitchen below! My wife rushed to turn off the main water supply but a lot of damage had already been done. After having some emergency work done by a plumber, we called MSI. We were aware of Joe's company because we had hired him do some cleanup on our basement less than 2 months beforehand because of a leaky dehumidifier.



Joe arrived the next morning to assess the damage. He told us his team would be sealing off our kitchen for a couple days so they could remove the ceiling (2 feet beyond the edge of all water damage) without spreading any dust. The MSI team started work a couple days later, although Joe was willing to start even sooner. They sealed off the kitchen and cut out the drywall ceiling. They also cut out the wall behind the shower (in our master closet) because it was wet. Joe shampooed the carpet in our closet and his team tore all of the plastic walls down and left our kitchen cleaner than it was before the leak! Throughout the process, MSI had fans and a dehumidifier running to dry everything out.



This was the second time we had used MSI and we were very happy customers again. Joe and his team were very professional and courteous. I can't recommend MSI enough!

MSI will surpass your expectations. When it comes to mold and moisture peoblems in your house, you want to feel completely confident that you're solving the problem thoroughly, and with MSI you won't have any lingering doubts. Joe is super knowlegable and super communicative.

I called MSI to clear my bedroom of mold in the ceiling and walls, caused by a roof leak. When Joe's crew came, they found that the problem was much greater than I had realized, so they had to work through the weekend to take care of everything.

Not only was he willing to stay on the job until every inch of mold was gone, but he also left two of his industrial size fans at my house for a number of weeks, to be extra safe. It's now been two month since the work was done, and I'm completely satisfied. No signs of moisture or mold anywhere.

As an extra plus, Joe sent info and high res photos of the damage and remediation work directly to my insurance agent, and offered to be contacted in case of further question. He did all of this despite the fact that he had already been paid in full, and didn't have any obligation to do so.

If I ever need this type of service again (I hope not) I will not consider any other company.

I used MSI recently for a home inspection for a home purchase. I wanted the added security above the normal home inspection that there would be no issues with my purchase. Joseph Fiorilli came in and was both highly professional and informative. He walked us through his entire inspection of air sampling and thermal imaging. He found potential issues behind the walls and provided us with a detailed report demonstrating high levels of mold on the second floor and basement. He worked with us and the current home owner on what was entailed to remediate this issue and provided us costs for remediation. As a result, we were able to reduce the price of the home for the costs associated with the remediationa and rebuild. I would immediately recommend MSI to anyone and feel that no one is as knowledgable and professional as Joe.

We recently had concerns within our company that mold could be present in two of our buildings. I researched some mold remediation companies and left my phone number. I recieved a call from Joe Fiorrilli the owner of M.S.I. . He stated that he would come out as soon as possible. When Joe arrived on site he explained the process of airborne sampling that would be used to detect any mold spores present in the buildings. His professional demeor and expierince were just what I was looking for. In additon his ethical business practices were evident when he discussed how he would only reccommend tests that were warranted. Joe got our results within days which really goes to customer satisfaction of the highest degree.
