I've been going to Ann's Nails, Holme Ave, for about 8 years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. The salon is so clean, so friendly, and the service from all the nail techs is excellent. I have acrylics, have had them for years, and never a problem. And right now during the pandemic, it is the safe place to go, all precautions taken and I just feel safe using this salon!

Beautiful nails but...

I went to anns for awhile when it first opened (about winter2009-10) and I loved the way my nails looked, but it did not take long to catch onto things... For starters, the employment around there is sketchy. I would pick a tech who did a great job, find out her name and told her i would recommend/request her, but when I came back for a refill 2 weeks later they had quit/been fired which I never understood. This happened at least three times to a tech whose work I actually loved. Second, too be completely honest, Ann is a very sweet lady... with a very good imagination. She told me many different stories that contradicted eachother. The first time I seen a male tech sitting next to her I asked if they were married and Ann told me "no I'm single" from then on, everytime I went in there she referred to him as her husband. The last time I was in there she told me she was engaged..... WHaaatt?!? Completely irrelevant to the service I know, but it's very strange. And the man who was her so called husband is IGNORANT like are you working for tips or what? He is very shaky and has cut me time and time again with the tool I like to call "the buzzer" he cuts your cuticles and has, on more than one occasion, scraped my fingertips with those things! Without an apology might I add. He also did friends of mine and has scraped into my friends nail, causing her to pull her hand away and he YELLED AT HER?? (God bless Ann). Lastly they really do take their time on your nails. I usually would spend no less than 2 hours including wait and dry. I also have gotten pedicures here and they don't know when enough is enough when it comes to the nail file. Also, this may just be me, but I've never been charged extra for French on my toes (besides here). You will switch techs constantly, often due to Shakes and Ann taking cigarette breaks... Nice right? Also, Pay attention to the price list. It is not out of the ordinary for Ann to pull a price out of thin air because she thinks she can trick you .. I once corrected her and saved myself about $8. And if youre looking for an eyebrow waxing, go to Unique on the same side of holme ave down the street just beyond the roundabout. They do a 10x better job for half the price. The atmospheres nice, always have game shows on, really talented people but its just not worth the wait. I would only go here again in desperation or to hear one of Ann's fairytales.

Great work, great staff. I cam...

Great work, great staff. I came in for as standard refill only to discover that I had a fungal infection on my nails because I went to another salon. They removed my fake nails, scrubbed the real nail, and treated them. Because they caught it early they were able to reapply new fake nails . My nails are now beautiful and healthy again :)
