When we needed our refrigerator repaired, Appliances and More came out and, after making my stepdaughter feel uncomfortable with inappropriate remarks and letting his apprentice work while the repairman "entertained" us with his life stories, charged us for a repair and broken part and fixed the handle of our freezer. Within ten minutes of the repairman leaving, the handle fell off. A few days later, the refrigerator was warm again. The repairman who came was not the one who was called and who did nothing because "it seems to be okay now." A few days later, warm again. I thawed the frozen air vents myself and called Appliances and More (again). Professional opinion rendered: "Hmmmm...."



A week later, warm refrigerator again. Without coming out to see it, the repairman diagnosed the problem over the phone, told us the charge would be a ridiculous amount, and would not offer any discount for the earlier, worthless work, and told us he might be able to make it out the next day to check it out.



No thanks. If I'm going to pay more to have it fixed (not to mention the cost of losing three refrigerator loads worth of food), I'll give the business to someone who'll stand behind his work for more than the time it takes to get out the door with my check. Enough is enough.

Although Bernie was very busy on a Saturday afternoon, he took the time to find a part I needed that day at a supplier who was closing. Made arrangments to put it on his account, and leave it in their mailbox. I simply paid him, and picked up the part. Was able to fix the washing machine due to his kind service.
