Totally Unimpressed...very dissapointed with finished product.

I would 100% not recommend All Star Cement. The owner will quote and follow through on doing the job, but the craftsmanship of the finished product is poor with no attention to details. Upon finishing our patio has spider cracks all over it, a spot of bird poop that was sealed over (so permanently there) and spots that weren't sealed completely.

My husband mapped out the entire project and spray painted lines on the ground and if we would not have been here during the process, the crew was going to change the shape drastically because "they were out of materials" to set the mold. The finished color looks ok, but is not what we had asked for-- owner Pat said he could match any color and we gave him samples-- finished color is not even close.

It took the owner 2 weeks to respond to phone messages to our compliants that would be fixed "immediately" but he still hasn't been here three weeks later.

I would not pay this contractor anything until all issues are resolved.

What he says, is not what you get!

I would not recommend All Star Cement. We had them come out and tear out our old deck and put in a patio. First of all, the owner, Pat, gave us a verbal estimate when he came out to look at the job, BUT when we got the official written estimate in the mail it was $100 more then previously stated, and never an explanation as to why. Second, when he came out to look at the job, he told us SEVERAL times that he would install railings and he recommended attaching the top of the railing to the house. When he came to put in the patio, again he said that after the concrete set, he would install the railing by attaching the top to the house. When they were finished, I asked when he would come out to install the railings and he stated that "if I wanted them attached to the house, I would have to get someone else, he doesn't do that" I was shocked, all this talk about how he could do it "no problem" and now he can't. All I can say is Thank God I didn't have my heart set on attaching the railing to the house! And in the end, we decided that a railing was not necessary. Third, when he and his crew were here putting in the patio, they were very loud and vulgar. I don't have small children, but my neighbors do, and I heard some complaints from them. This is a job site, not a bar. Last but not least, there were alot of problems with the way the cement was smoothed out. The lines went every which way and we ended up with start and stop marks all over. Over the phone, the owner, Pat, told me that he could fix this, but when he came over to look at the "not so great finish" he changed his tune and said he could not fix it, and all he could do is talk to his finisher about it. This may help the next person, but it doesn't help me.
