The Peterborough Recreation Department provides a variety of recreational and leisure activities for individuals. The department supports several sports activities that include basketball, baseball, softball, football, volleyball, soccer and tennis for youths and adults. In addition, it provides various kinds of playground equipment. The department offers swimming, bowling, tumbling, aerobic and wrestling activities. The Peterborough Recreation Department conducts yoga, gymnastic, dance, foreign language and aerobic classes. It organizes community and youth events, adult programs and children's activities. The department operates under the government of the town of Peterborough, N.H., which operates accounting, fire, health, finance, human resources, information technology, library and school departments.
