The Peoria Public Library was founded in 1880 as one of the first tax-supported libraries in Illinois. It offers a collection of books, periodicals, movies and displays. The library provides a variety of music books, including opera, jazz, rock and roll and blues. As a member of the Alliance Library System, the Peoria Public Library participates in an inter-library loan programs assuring patrons of access to the books and information. The library offers a variety of owned and pre-owned books for sale. Its bookmobile carries a selection of print books, paperbacks, videos and magazines for all age groups. The Peoria Public Library provides public meeting rooms and free internet services. It is located in Peoria, Ill.
