I am writing this review to warn future fur parents of VIP Grooming. I recently moved to AZ and was looking for a new groomer. I saw the great reviews for VIP and thought it would be a good idea to check them out. Unfortunately, I gravely regretted my decision. I have had my pup all his 15 years of life and he has never given groomers any problems nor has he been cut with scissors or recieved such poor customer service in the grooming industry.
Moreover, my experience all started when I brought my pup in to drop him off at 8-830 am. I had made his appointment ahead of time only to arrive and find out he wasn't in the books. The intake person said she squeeze me in. I didn't think much of it since people make mistakes and she was willing to work with me. I told her I needed to be at work by 1:30 and that I would appreciate a call to pick him up before hand. She reassured me that it would only take 3-4 hours. Nothing to unusual so I left and later found myself calling for an update and hour or so before work. The groomer said he wasn't ready but would be ready shortly. So I asked my fiance if he could pick him up while I was at work. He agreed, and so I left for work. An hour or so later, my fiance called and found out my pup still wasn't ready. We became concerned as to why it would take until almost 2pm to have my pup ready. My fiance decided to make an appearance while I was at work. He arrived only to find my pup had just recently finished getting groomed, his ear cut, and a groomer startled. It appeared that around they had just gotten to him hours later and they hadn't even finished. He said the groomer was apologetic but not genuine and appeared to be hiding my pup. My pups haircut was the worse he had ever had in the 15 years I've had him with a crooked thin line down his back and unclipped nails and an uneven coat. The worst part was that when my fiance arrived my pup was shivering and had a cut ear. So after 6 over hours we now had a poor haircut and a shivering pup with a cut ear. I ended up leaving work early and worried since my pup had never been cut with scissors or acted in such a frightened manner.
My experience doesn't end there. We were offered a future free grooming and a vet checkup with costs being covered. We of course refused the grooming service but did what any fur parent would do and took him to the vet. My vet put him on antibiotics and said to keep an eye on it and we would be following up in 2 weeks. I took the vet bill to VIP only to recieve a hard time to get my money back. I was shocked that the receptionist spoke under her breathe rudely and called her boss. The receptionist was older so I couldn't believe her mannerism in customer service was so poor. However, her boss was shockingly not much better. I explained what had happened to her boss and she responded by saying she had already apologized and she didn't know what else to do. I explained she could at least reimburse me for the vet bill as promised and follow up included today and not make me have to return for my reimbursement. She hesitantly agreed and her receptionist proceeded to annoyingly sigh under her breathe while she wrote out the check.
Lastly, I later tried to contact the owner to no avail. I only reached the manager who seemed condensending at the whole situation. I hope this post helps people make better decisions for their loved ones in the future

They only charge $5 for my dogs to get nails cut, they are both small dogs.Each time I went one or the other dog had to have that blood stop applied. Another time I had to hold the dog to get his nails cut, and he was my GOOD dog, not my scardy-cat one.I had not had that issue with other shops, so I've decided to go elsewhere.
