The Fire Department serves and protects the lives, property and interests of the citizens and proprietors of the City of Peekskill. The department s fleet includes an aerial platform, utility vehicle, engines and paramedic fly cars. It has more than 200 volunteers and over 20 firefighters. The Fire Department has a team of captains, lieutenants, career supervisor and municipal training officer. It has more than 10 emergency medical technicians and paramedics. The department operates a fire police unit that works for traffic and crowd control and securing the fire scene. It additionally maintains a fire prevention committee that works for annual school fire drills and demonstrations.
