Established in 1994, the North Shore Medical Center Cancer Center is also known as NSMC Cancer Center. It offers cancer care, treatment and research services. The cancer center provides clinical services in the areas of genetic cancer risk screening, hematology, bone marrow transplant, and medical, radiation and gynecologic oncology. The NSMC Cancer Center performs cardiac diagnostic, imaging, and outpatient and minimally invasive surgery procedures. It also offers wellness services, including acupuncture, Reiki, strength and flexibility programs, as well as massage and yoga therapies through the Wellness and Integrative Medicine Department. Additionally, the cancer center treats patients with breast, lung, prostrate, urologic and thoracic cancer. Located in Peabody, Mass., the NSMC Cancer Center is recognized by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACOS) as a teaching hospital cancer program. It is a part of the North Shore Medical Center, which is one of the largest health care providers in the North Shore region of Massachusetts.
