I've seen some negative reviews about Charland Appliance Center, but I had a different experience and wanted to share it. Everyone is quick to comment or share a review when they have a bad experience, but people are less likely to go out of their way to share a positive experience.



I called Charland after 5pm last Saturday. I knew they were closed, but figured I would take shot and maybe leave a message. Instead of getting a vm, I got the owner Michael.



Our washer stopped working recently and I've been trying to fix it myself. Watching all the DYI videos on YouTube I thought I identified the problem, a bad clutch on my direct drive Kenmore washer. The problem persisted after replacing the clutch.



I was referred to Charland by a family member to check out their refurnished appliances. When I spoke with the owner I asked if they sold refurbished washers. He said they did, but asked about mine. After describing my washer and the problem, he informed me that I have a high quality washer compared to the models produced today and if the frame is not rusted out, it would be worth fixing. The challenge I've been having is finding the right part. I've found some on eBay, but I don't know who is coming from, what condition it's in and no easy recourse to return it if it doesn't work. Michael told me he has whatever I need for parts.



He could have easily steered me to buying something new or refurbished from him, which was the original purpose for my call.



In summary:

-The owner took my call ona weekend after hours

-he was courteous and professional

-he spent extra time with me to understand my problem

-he was honest and truly tried to help me

-he's providing me a local alternative to an online gamble, which is outstanding



From my dealings with this company I would recommend them. 5 stars!

I bought some appliances from them. They never worked and they never replaced my money. They are the worst ever... pure thieves. They were rude , inconceierate, and disrespectful... i dont recommend anybody to ever go there or get service from them if you don/t want it stolen from you.
