I went to the emergency room very sick thinking I had food poisoning and then was admitted to the hospital because of my bloodwork and my low blood pressure. I was given an IV of iron in an IV line that was "positional" (the nurse's description) which then leaked out into my tissue created a brown spot and hard lumpy scar tissue that I still have two months later. Once they admitted me, I developed a severe headache over the next day (I believe because of my blood pressure) and was given Tylenol which seemed to help a little. This was easily the worst headache/pain I have ever experienced. Then, when I had been given the maximum daily allowance for Tylenol, the overnight staff seemed to not care that I was hurting and delayed giving me anything that would help for HOURS and gave no explanation as to why! I actually sent my husband to my house to get me some Ibuprofen. I have never been so miserable and frightened in my life! I called later that week to voice my concerns about the scarring in my arm and the general lack of compassion from the staff and was met with initial concern and a promise to follow up which did not happen. I will never go to this hospital again and I will advise everyone I know to do the same.

I had an unexpected heart issue in the middle of the night, they were great at getting me in quick and figuring out the problem. All of the doctors and nurse's were wonderful

The nursery and NICU were AMAZING!! My baby was born early and the nurses were right on top of it. They got my baby stabilized and kept us updated nearly every 15 minutes. They showed extraordinary compassion and expertise in everything they did. They were very supportive of my decision to nurse my baby and helped me get established so when my baby could eat we had a supply available for her. I am so grateful for their kindness and most of all their knowledge. They obviously knew what they were doing. After reading previous reviews, I am shocked that anybody could think that way of those nurses who are truly angels in mine and my families eyes. Thank you!!!! I am a true believer that BIGGER isn't always BETTER!!! I will be back again!!!!!!!!!

Recently, I turned 50 and following preventative recommendations had a colonoscopy at MVH. Being in healthcare I have always dreaded thinking I would be on the other side of table and worried/concern. The staff in SDS listened to my concerns and requests and WENT BEYOND my expectations. Dr. T was very professional and kind, B.A., nurses and secretary/receptionist performed with high degree of skill and compassion. I would always chose MVH over others in the valley. I had them also save my life over 12 yrs ago when I was diangosed with ovarian cancer. After months of tests, hospitalizations, MD's. On step through the ER and a clear diagnosis was found and all my cares turned to fighting hard to stay ahead of chemo and surgery. MVH was my lifesaver and if needed for further care, it is my #1 choice of facilities. Thanks!!!

HORRIBLE NURSERY AND NICU NURSES!!

The wishes of patients and doctor's orders are ignored by nurses. Have your baby somewhere else. Their care is substandard at best and their thinking and education is outdated. They discourage breastfeeding and give formula to babies that are breastfed. The nurses are the worst I have seen or heard of.
