Parkwood Elementary School is a public coeducational school for early education operated by Deer Park Independent School District. The school offers education to students in grades kindergarten through five in various subjects, such as English, math, social studies and science. It offers a curriculum that meets the requirements of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, and also its grade three students participate in Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills tests. The school additionally offers English as a Second Language, special education classes and gifted and talented programs. Additionally, it offers a variety of reading support programs and activities, such as piano enrichment program, Wee Deliver, Fabulous Fridays, safety guards and choir and orchestra. The Fabulous Fridays is a special enrichment curriculum that offers a series of classes related to real life connections, such as origami, calligraphy, karate, stained glass, fiesta time, animal habitats and cookie academy. It also offers a science laboratory that offers visual displays, a wide variety of foliage, fascinating animals and learning activities.
