WebsiteSomeone recently asked me what my theoretical orientation was. The best I could come up with as an answer was eclectic. So much of what I understand has come through personal experience. Marriage, divorce, single-parenthood, remarriage (happily for over 27 years now), and understanding the unique challenges for a step-parent and parent raising a child, all played a part. Over fifteen years of personal growth work also helped. However, nothing in these experiences prepared me for the discoveries discussed in my article, “Working with Individuals, Couples, and Families Can Be Easier…A Lot Easier,” which you will find on my website, www.HealthierFamiliesNow.com, that was published in the July/August 2008 volume of The Therapist. If you choose to read this article, I believe you will have a very good idea of how I approach the counseling process and why.
