The church is very different from your standard lutheran church. First, Celebration Ministries is a new church that really embraces and reflects Park Forest. You walk inside and it is a true representation of what the community is. It's beautiful.



What I enjoy is the upbeat and variety of music from the praise team, yet they still throw in some classical and traditional songs with the choir. The pastor is very down to earth, engaging, and you can't help but feel the message was delivered just for you. They usually have a video that helps get you thinking before the pastor delivers his message. Once a month they have what they call a "No Hush" service where the kids skip kids church for the day and come up to worship with the adults. They have someone sign the service and make it known that "wigglers are welcome". "Get out and serve" Sundays happen if there is a fifth Sunday in the month. Instead of having the normal worship time, the people gather downstairs and connect with each other and learn opportunities (or go out) to serve in the community or around the church. It is a really neat way to "do church". And that is only Sundays...they have so much more that happens throughout the rest of the week.



Youth after school program, small group, daycare, coffeehouse, men's group, women's group, kids church, drumming, scrapbooking...and probably more. You have to check it out for yourself.
