Puzzle With Me™ is an Alzheimer’s Puzzle that acts as a therapeutic solution for caregivers and people affected by Alzheimer’s or dementia. Created by Jane Snyder, who lost her own mother to Alzheimer’s disease in 2010, searched for tangible activities that would allow her to connect with her mother. Fond memories of doing jigsaw puzzles as a child encouraged Jane to go out and buy one. However, the only puzzles she could find had far too many pieces or images that were just too juvenile, leading Jane to produce an Alzheimer’s puzzle.With the help from her family and friends, Jane has created Puzzle With Me™ to help those in need of a solution at home. These Alzheimer Puzzles are designed with special features suitable for the older demographic. For example the puzzles pieces are 3mm thick, much thicker than most other puzzles making it easy to handle. The Alzheimer puzzle is made up of 12 large pieces that come completed inside the box. Having the puzzle completed in the box gives the person with Alzheimer’s a chance to see what the puzzle will look like before they start the puzzle. This also allows for the caregiver to change the level of difficulty by simply removing more of the pieces. Puzzle With Me™ is a focused activity that helps the caregivers, families and friends to spend time engaging with the individual with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. The puzzles are designed with images that are mature, appealing and familiar to older adults: landmarks, hobbies, and pleasant scenes that will provide an opportunity for conversation. The jigsaw pieces are large and sturdy with only twelve pieces per puzzle – ideal for keeping the activity focused. Puzzle With Me™ has a two-fold mission. First, the products provide a solution for caregivers to connect and communicate with people who have Alzheimer’s and dementia. Second, Puzzle With Me™ supports the larger cause of worldwide Alzheimer’s Associations with education, information sharing and community building.
