Dr. Robert Spies is a board-certified plastic surgeon who performs both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.Dr. Spies received his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1979. He then successfully completed both a general surgery and plastic surgery residency; the latter at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has served as an officer in the past for both the Maricopa County Plastic Surgery Society as well as the Arizona Plastic Surgery Society. Dr. Spies has been a Plastic Surgeon since 1986 performing both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. His practice now is primarily cosmetic; however, he still does reconstructive surgery for cancer patients (breast cancer as well as head and neck cancer). He is one of only a few surgeons in the Valley who performs microsurgery for head and neck cancer reconstruction. He believes that all people requiring cancer reconstruction deserve care and treatment just like those who seek cosmetic plastic surgery.
