My mother owned a business for 20 years. At about the time that she changed credit card machines away from UMPA, she also got sick, and was in the hospital, and eventually died. During the period that she was in the hospital, we contacted UMPA (as the business) and informed them that we were closing the account. Rather than just close the account as requested, they insisted that we gather and send documents. Which to the recollection of everyone at the office we did. Months after her death, UMPA has continued to deduct a fee from the business account every month. Now they say they require MORE documents and they refuse to refund the fees that they collected. There have been no transactions since last august (a year) and we receive no statements, and not even an email saying that our statement is ready. Without a "hey what is this?" catch in accounting, they would have continued to quietly collect these monies without us knowing it. they will continue to take your money, even in death

Jon's mother owned American Tile Specialties. He contacted UMPA 10/27/2015 asking to have his mother's account closed. We told Jon, we need to have the cancellation in writing signed by the owner of the account. Same as if you would be closing a checking account at your bank. He told us he was the power of attorney. We asked him to send us a copy of the P.O.A. and we would be able to help him. Needless to say we never received it. On August 8, 2016, Jon called 9 months later questioning why the account was still open and we reiterated that we never received a cancellation from the account owner or the P.O.A. paperwork. He could not provide any documentation that he had indeed sent it to us. He sent the death certificate along with written cancellation on August 15, 2016. His account was promptly closed. Please understand this is a financial line of credit and we must uphold to banking regulations. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 717-832-0730, Thank you, Rosie

They bang you from every which way you have an orrafice. They don't tell you the contract automatically renews on top of you have to notify them in writing 30 days to contract end date or else you get charged around $400. So save yourself the headache and $$$. Cause unless you like getting taken, go with your another credit card processor.

ripoff. keep your bank services

After two years with them, and bad service I decided to go back to my bank credit card processing. Well I got charged $373.11 for cancelation. They basically f#&ked me and I can't do anything about it. Something about contract renews automatically without my knowledge. And I should have known. Well I'm spreading the news now. If I can save couple of business from using their service, I'll be happy.

Please do business with someone else. Their sales people lie. After doing business with them 3 years they were going to charge me $800 when I opened a second store and wanted to do my processing through them. I decided to go with another processor that appreciated my business more. I had originally signed a 2 year contract with United Merchants Processing. I canceled after 3 years and they charged me $300! I called and they said that the contract automatically renews. The contract is pages and pages long. I was never told about an automatic renewal. I will be disputing the charge with my bank as they still have not supplied me with a copy of the contract that states the 'automatic renewal'. Liars and thieves. Take your business somewhere else.
