In 1982, Douglas L. Sumrall began distributing gasoline and diesel in Palestine, Texas under the name Sumrall Distributing. Seeing the propane cylinder business as a natural fit to his gasoline and diesel operations, in 1994 he expanded into the propane business. Two years later, he began a full-service, family-owned propane gas company serving the needs of Palestine and its surrounding communities in Anderson, Freestone, Houston, Leon, and Southwestern Henderson Counties.
