I have been going to this pet salon for 30 years and love the service I get. Cathy is an expert in her field and even took in my dog LEWY when he got skunked as an emergency. Best groomer in the northwest suburbs

I have been a cat owner all my life and this was my first experience bringing a cat to a groomer. We have two american bobtails and one of them has a stubby tail which combined with her little round figure seems to make grooming her backside a bit of a challenge. She's sensitive in the tail area perhaps due to an old injury (they were rescue cats) so when I couldn't comb out her fur anywhere but on her back I figured it was time to find a professional. I couldn't be any happier about how Cathy handled "Stubby" who looks just beautiful after her grooming appt. She also had some gland issues which Cathy addressed and I received a follow up call today from her asking how Stubby's sister handled the fresh smelling Stubby upon her return home. Cathy seems genuinely concerned with our cat's welfare and that along with the excellent grooming job will be why we return to Jiminy Clippers.

Jiminy Clippers is the best grooming salon for both cats and dogs. I have a 4 year old Labradoodle named Rosie and we are constantly stopped on our walks and asked who is our groomer. We request Elizabeth for Rosie---she is very patient and loving with her, as "getting pretty" is not her favorite activity. (At any other salon I tried, she would not even get out of the car!) Cathy the owner grooms our three cats. Our Maine Coon named Puss in Boots, who is 20 pounds, lazy about personal care and very cranky has become a different cat since Cathy started giving her the Lion Cut. She is so much happier and literally does a modeling strut after her grooming sessions!

Sadie, my 5-year old Westie, had her first grooming with Jimminy Clippers yesterday and will surely be returning in the future. Her former groomer (no longer in business) was very good but this experience was the best. For Sadie and me, Cathy definitely has the "westie touch." Very happy!

I love Jimminy Clippers! I especially like the fact that they do dog-free Sundays, so my cat can come in and not be completely freaked out. I'm always amazed at what they can do for my long-haired cat! I highly recommend them.

We have a little Chihuahua, a shelter rescue, who is rather timid with strangers. We have taken her to Jimminy Clippers for 5 years, since we brought her home with us. In addition to the award-winning grooming, their nail clipping service is fantastic, and is done on a walk-in basis. I have never had to wait!! All the groomers are professional and you can tell they love the animals. Kathy is to be commended for running a smooth operation, and having such a dedicated staff.

I have a long haired persian cat and it is very difficult to find a groomer who is skilled in grooming for this type of animal. I have taken my cat Rocky in for a general grooming for the second time and was just as pleased as I was the first time. I have owned persians for the last 16 years and have been to many different groomers over that time. This shop is one of the best I have used. I was particularly impressed when they asked me about trimming the eye brows for a more open and sweet facial expression. It certainly made a difference so I made a point to ask for it again when I visited recently. Another nice service is the opportunity to make an appointment during "cat only hours" on Sunday for a quieter and less stressful experience for my cat.

I love cats. I've had many cats and have taken them here. Some have just been bathed and smell so good when I get them. Some have been furminated and two that have long hair have been shaved after getting matted. I call this the kitty spa as my cats come back very refreshed! The groomer watches out for them too. One cat had a tumor that I didn't notice and the groomer called and told me to get her to an emergency room. She cares so much about every single one of them, like they were her own. I was upset to lose that cat but feel grateful that she noticed and told me. It is the best place in the area and I would highly recommend it.

I've never had the need to go to a pet groomer, but I adopted a Norwegian Forest Cat (his owner died). Real big guy and MUCH long hair. When I rescued him his sides (both of them) were just huge mats! They were so matted I couldn't get anything underneath the mats to try to cut them off. Spoke to my vet and they recommended Jimminy Clippers. And am I glad they did!



Not only did they do a great job of giving him a "buzz cut" (he feels like velvet after wards!), they did exactly as I asked. (I hate the "lion" cut that you see - I think it looks so stupid.) So I told them to leave the tail and his neck and ruff. When I got him back he was so handsome and he smelled so good! And I knew he felt better too!



Cut to this year...try as I might I couldn't keep up with the mats in his coat and my other cats longhair coat. Both had tons of mats. So again, I took my big male to be groomed. He is so good at the groomer (according to them!) and is used to the noise and dogs in the room at the same time.



I made a separate appointment for my long haired female for a SUNDAY! They only take cats on Sunday and as she not only has never been to a groomer before I don't think she's ever seen a dog. While it cost a bit more, it was so worth it. Again the groomer did exactly as I asked - belly and inner thighs only (her most matted areas) and she got her first bath! She also smelled so good, and she must have lost a lot of hair because she seemed smaller somehow (BIG GRIN).



Anyway, I heartily recommend Jimminy Clipper! Great staff, great service and great accommodations!

Best place ever..I have been taking my dogs there for over ten years :) they love going and the people are soooooooooo NICE and they do the best job in town. I would not take my dog any place but Jimminy Clippers.

Jimminy Clippers does a great job grooming and also making our dog comfortable when he is in. There other services such as teeth cleaning and clean up if they are hit by a skunk that are nice to have as options. Our dog is a Lhaso Apso, loves going to Jimminy's and even gets along with the other dogs while there. This is a safe and convienent place if you live in Palatine that does quality work and treats your dog as if the dog is their pet.

I have a MI-Ki and it's hard to find a groomer that is good.



Elizabeth does My GiGi and she is absoutley the greatest.



GiGi comes out looking so darn cute, smelling wounderful and with out harm.

believe me that is the biggest relief ever with such a small dog.

Absolutely the best!! The first concern is ALWAYS your pet and their comfort in the salon. We have used Cathy and her team for the last 18 years. Currently we have a Welsh Terrier and Yorkiepoo that visit the salon about every 8 weeks. You can ask for no better groomer than Cathy and her team. They will make sure your pet is relaxed and happy while there and they always come out looking their most adorable.

They are just great! We take both our dog and our cat there. Everyone is friendly and efficient and their service is wonderful. It was hard to find a place that does cats and Kathy does beautiful work. Our pets come home happy and handsome. I can make a one hour appointment, shop a bit and then pick them up. We are so appreciative of their care, knowledge and skill.

My sister and her daughter have been bringing there dogs to Jimminy Clippers for several years now, and everytime their dogs come home they look absolutley fabulous! The one mix breed dog gets the shedding treatment called the Furminator. And it slows down the shedding process tremendously! Her other dog gets Bow Wow Bling which is earrings for dogs AND she gets her tail colored pink! Her dogs are always happy when they leave Jimminy Clippers, so when I got my Great Pyrenees I had to go there too! I asked for the same groomer my sister gets, her name is Elizabeth. And my dog Missy looked like a show dog when she was done! She also got her done fairly quickly and she wasn't sitting there all day. I highly recommend this place for anyone that wants their dogs to look great and be happy about going to the groomer!

We have been going to Jimminy Clippers for years now. Kathy does a wonderful job with our little Westie! He looks beautiful and so cute when we pick him up. I especially like that at his last visit his teeth were cleaned with a new product that takes the tartar off. His teeth look just great. They do a wonderful job with your pet. Everyone is so nice,I would highly recommend Jimminy Clippers!

My two dogs were groomed here for the first time. They both came home looking great and even had a little extra detail work done!!! Will be going back for their next grooming without hesitation. Vickie has a way with my mutts.

We bring our cat here to get a "lion cut". Everyone who works here is extremely friendly to both their human and animal customers. Our cat always comes home smelling fresh, looking handsome, and in a pretty good mood, so they must be doing something right. While it is close to our home, I feel it would be worth a bit of drive if your choice is between JC and one of the big box pet store groomers.

We have been taking our dog here for three years. They cut great and our dog loves going there!! We won't be leaving anytime soon :)
