Beware! My 79 year-old father was told in Knoxville when he picked up a 26' truck that he needed to return truck before midnight on a Saturday. This branch attempted to charge him an add'l $272 for for an extra 2-days of rental when he returned truck at approx 3:30 CST on the contracted delivery date. A female employee even confirmed the truck was delivered on Saturday, as she had driven by on the same day and saw the truck parked in the lot. When we contacted the location to discussed why he was charged we were don't no credit would be issued until we spoke with Budgets customer service department. When we contacted Budget, they apathy was only barely exceeded by the local branch. We explained that Dan Lawson, the owner of the Budget branch where we originally rented the truck, had told us to make sure the truck was back before midnight and gave them his number so they could confirm. THEY NEVER CONTACTED MR. LAWSON and came back on the phone and said they could only refund $120 of the $272. If my 79 yr old father had been given specific time, he would have been there prior to that tine. GOOD MOVE BUDGET! BEST $152 INVESTMENT IN NEGATIVE MARKETING YOU'VE EVER MADE!!!
