There are two obvious facets that make Kelly Park a charming place to live: the property, and the property manager, Hillary, and her support staff.

For the property, the style is unequivocally high-end, and easily comparable to any new property in such a major city as Chicago, with the interior featuring architectural arches throughout the design, crown molding, high ceilings, and quality materials, reflecting the thoughtfulness of the new build. The clubhouse is a grand design in itself, hosting a business center, theater room, sitting room, and a fitness center in view of the saltwater pool. The location of the property is near major Kansas highways and interstates, making traveling to the airport, downtown to Crown Center, the Plaza area and nearby Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, very direct. The complex is in a very short radius to some of the best shopping in all of the metropolitan area, with national chains shops including Von Maur, Barnes and Noble, Crate and Barrel, Williams and Sonoma, and the list continues.

One of the best features that this property has to offer is the ambiance that the property manager Hillary, has projected for it. Her disposition is sterling. She is unwavering in her cordial approachability, and cheerfulness, and she presents this while maintaining a diligent dutifulness in overseeing all aspects of an impeccably well-run site, and all done with an approach that is not invasive. Her office staff, Allison and Kasey, along with the maintenance team, mirror this quality demeanor, making it a truly pleasant environment, amidst a truly lovely setting.

I have been meaning to write a review about my stay at Kelly Park for some time. My husband was working in Kansas City and we were still out of State. We couldn't find a house in enough time and decided to rent for 6 months. I was initially devastated. I couldn't imaging moving back into an apartment as we had been living in a house for the past seven years. Now we had 2 kids and we would have to go back to living in an apartment?!

Enter Kelly Park Apartments. I was actually excited to move in and the apartment did feel like a home. We enjoyed the pool and grilling out. All of the residents are so kind and were especially patient with my young children. I became pregnant with our third child and when picking up a package actually had one of the KP Staff insist on carrying the package to my car. The girls in the office were always nice and helpful and willing to work with me on what ever.

Maintenance were always willing to help and I don't have any complaints on the property...it was always clean and well-tended.

The only downside were the limitations on pool guests...2. So celebrating a birthday or inviting a couple over with one child wouldn't work. The air conditioner seemed pretty loud...but I became very used to that. You can hear some noise from above/below...but I would be shocked if that wasn't true of every apartment. No matter how hard they try, I think that is just part of apartment living.

I loved the balcony and I miss our granite and my kitchen there. I have so many fond memories and KP holds a special place in my heart. My 3-year-old son continues to ask about "our red house" and wants to go back to visit.

We ended up staying for a year at Kelly Park and that year was a pretty darn good one. :-)

SO happy with Kelly Park!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely loved it here! I am only moving because of a relationship, moving in with the fiance. Absolutely everything I ever wanted in an apartment including square footage, crown molding, granite counters and real tile. Along with the pool and gym! Super easy to keep clean if you know what your doing. Only complaints were only against loud obnoxious neighbors who either had a non-stop barking dog or young partiers that were up stomping around all night and blaring music. I've lived in apartment long enough to realize that you will hear some neighbor sounds from time to time but you should know when it is excessive and report it. Kelly Park responded correctly every time and it never happened again. They understand the lifestyle we are paying for and do not let anything interfere with it. I just wish I could stay here forever like I originally planned. I will miss you girls!

The management is the worst I have ever experienced. The apartments are nice but they forget maintenance requests, dont call you back and do not work with you one bit.

Beautful apartments but please dont let that mistake you. If you ask anything of the staff, you mind as well not even ask They are some of the rudest people I have ever worked with. They never say thank you when you call, when you are in person they look at you like your in their way. When you sign a lease, they are the nicest people ever. The second you pay them money they want nothing to do with you. They have a gated communitry where you have to have a key card to get in. It has been broken for 3 months and when I called to tell them that I am paying alot of money and this has been broken, their response was " its not for security, its for convenience". If it was for convenience, it wouldn't be there because its more of a hassle to have this card on you at all times. I dont even think she said im sorry. Best thing of all, A resident threw up on the side walk- and it took them a week and 2 phones calls to clean it up! ABSOLUTLY UNACCEPTABLE. So not only are the gates broken, they are ok potentially showing a new leaser an apartment with throw up at your front door. When ever you call, they NEVER say thank you. When it snows, you better have your own snowblower or shovel because they wont even help their residents get out. " the maintenance crew has their own jobs". I work at a hotel where my eng. team did nothing but shovel people out for 10-12 hours. Bottom line, great apartment- terrible staff and terrible interactions.

Kelly-Park is one of the newly built 1 or 2 apartments complex in Overland Park and I compared it to the all newly built in +5 miles circle and found it the best from the design, quality, landscaping, and amenities. The management team (Kessley , Allison and Hilary) are so friendly and very helpful. When I rented my apartment last summer there was plenty of vacant apartments, I believe now it’s almost 100% full and there is a waiting list. I will recommend this apartment to any of my friends or co-workers especially any transplant.

Looks can be very deceiving. ...

Looks can be very deceiving. Not everything is horrible about Kelly Park, but my experiences have me regretting my decision to rent with Kelly Park. Kelly Park has a beautiful appearance and is a brand-new complex, as it is only about a year old. I was the first to occupy the apartment I am currently in. There are some very nice features about the apartments, stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops (which are NOT sealed), and overall, there are some very nice floor plans. However, if I had known that I would encounter the issues with this apartment / office staff that I have, I would have never made the decision to sign a lease with Kelly Park. First, I have had a ridiculous silverfish problem and my clothes are getting ruined by these annoying bugs. I have told the office staff about this issue and although they have sent an Orkin person out to supposedly take care of the issue, it has clearly NOT been taken care of and my clothes are continuing to be ruined by the infestation of silverfish in my apartment. I have several sticky traps around the area where I notice them the most and they are filled with silverfish so that is how I know there is still a very obvious problem with silverfish. In addition to having issues with silverfish, the overall maintenance of the complex is not maintained very well. The grass has a lot of weeds, there is slime mold in the mulch in front of my building, moss is growing in the pool along with an overload of chlorine, and the sensor to the gate when exiting my building does not work properly so I am constantly having to push the emergency / disabled person push button just to exit my building. Along w/ maintenance issues, the office staff is incredibly rude. They are great when you are possibly going to be leasing with them, they are chatty & friendly with you, but once you sign the lease, the "I don't care" attitude comes out. The poor attitude is not just from the leasing staff but also from the property manager. The property manager is extremely unprofessional. When I first moved in I had issues with my breaker box constantly tripping, causing half my power to go out. Upon contacting the office and speaking with the office manager I was told due to strict fire codes, just walking across my carpeted floors, creating static as I walk could trip my breaker box. I could not believe that this was the expanation I was getting, especially coming from the property manager. I feel that the manager and other office staff are completely unprofessional and could definitely brush up on their customer service skills. Another thing to add to my list of issues with Kelly Park, they do not do short-term or month-to-month leases. In order to not move multiple times, I was just going to stick it out with Kelly Park until I had another place lined up so I asked if I could either sign a short-term lease when my 12 month lease was up or if I could just rent month-to-month. The response I got was that they can only have a certain number of people move out per month so that is why they would not allow me to re-new with a short-term lease or rent month-to-month. First of all, how can you fully control who moves out each month? The complex is not even fully occupied by residents so why would you turn down money from someone who pays their rent on time every month and takes care of their apartment? I can see several vacant apartments every time I walk my dog around the complex. It does not make any sense to me... If you want to be fooled by the beautiful appearance of this complex and the nicely finished apartments for rent, along with the fake staff the same way I was, then I sign a lease with Kelly Park... However, I highly recommend you keep looking for a place to rent... There are several other up-scale apartments in the same area as Kelly Park and I think it would be well worth it to look into renting from another apartment complex.
