I have never been treated so rudely or experienced such lack of professionalism, as I did today when I came in to order a cake for a birthday party that I will be hosting at the end of April.



I was told that quite frankly the cake I had in mind was "too labor intensive" and that she would not make it because she has weddings that she is SO busy with. She made me feel horrible by telling me multiple times that she is "so busy" and that three month's time "is not enough notice"....I don't know what planet this woman lives on that three months notice is not enough notice to make a birthday cake? Are you kidding me?



The straw that broke the camel's back for me was when she acted like she was doing me a huge favor by offering to make me a simple butter cream cake (which by the way she wanted to charge me $100 for), rather than the fondant cake that I came in asking for. I can order a butter cream cake from any grocery store in town, I came to a "gourmet bakery" because I wanted a gourmet cake.



Irina is rude, condescending and acted as though she had no time for my insignificant birthday cake, when she is oh so busy making wedding cakes. Get over yourself Irina, you are not a celebrity cake maker in Beverly Hills.



I will never, ever be back and I will be sure to spread the word about the lack of professionalism that is Irina's "gourmet" bakery!
