Founded in 1992, Harmony Elementary School is a Blue Ribbon school that enrolls more than 630 students in prekindergarten through grade five. It offers a variety of academic courses, such as math, science, social studies, reading, writing, art and health education. The school provides enrichment programs and involves students in several extracurricular activities, including artworks, musical concerts, and geography bee and spelling bee competitions. Its library and media center stocks a range of reading and reference materials and electronic resources. The school offers an independent reading program that encourages students to read a variety of books at their reading level. It is a part of the Blue Valley School District, which serves students in kindergarten through grade 12. Harmony Elementary School is located in Overland Park, Kan.
