Located in Overland Park, Kan., Bentwood Elementary School offers a curriculum for students in grades kindergarten through six. The school was opened in 1996 and has an enrollment of more than 550 students. It is affiliated with the Olathe Unified School District. A wide range of subjects offered include science, mathematics, algebra, geometry, integrated mathematics, English, language arts, reading and writing skills, science, social studies, arts and health and physical education. In addition, it provides foreign language, fine arts and computer technology classes. The school also houses a variety of facilities that include a computer laboratory, library, media center and a cafeteria. Bentwood Elementary School also organizes a variety of events and activities through its parent-teacher association support.
