Shawnee Mission Medical Center, located in Shawnee Mission, Kan., is part of a network of more than 500 health care facilities sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The center is spread over an area of more than 50 acres. It comprises a more than 380-bed hospital, outpatient surgery center, a community health education building, physician office buildings, and a child care center. The center has more than 700 physicians and over 2,800 associates involved in inpatient and outpatient services. The services include behavioral services, cardiovascular care, surgical services and women s services. It also offers a range of other services, such as bariatrics, mammography, maternity care, cancer care, critical care unit, pain center, pediatrics, emergency services and radiology.
