This contemporary expression of an ancient 4th century style of architecture combines hand-crafted mosaic and fresco, stone, bronze, and glass sculpture to recount the story of salvation. The organ is a restoration and expansion of pipework from twelve organs built by the E.M. Skinner Organ Company in the early 20th century. The Church of the Transfiguration rests at the heart of the Community of Jesus, an ecumenical monastic community in the Benedictine tradition. Docent-led tours are available Monday-Saturday (closed Wednesday) from 10 AM - 5 PM, and Sundays following Eucharist.
