I worked for Orlando Sentinel, 435 Digital, Tribune Publishing. My Digital Manager had a Sexual Harassement Charge File against them with HR. HR - had individual meetings with each Digital Sales Person on the team. During my discussion wth HR - we discussed Bully Management Style of Sales Manager.



Bully-style management can manifest itself in many ways in the workplace. Excessive negativity toward a subordinate's work is another form of bullying. For example, if a worker turns in a report that is not adequate and his boss criticizes him harshly rather than offering constructive advice, the worker might feel bullied. Other examples of bullying include making threats, personal insults, giving preferential treatment to certain subordinates, micromanagement and unreasonable expectations.



Bullying is detrimental to the mental well-being of employees, which can negatively affect the businesses they work for. Bullying can reduce employee morale and may even cause certain employees to develop anxiety or depression. Workers with low morale tend to be less productive and less loyal to their employers, which can lead to a higher rate of absenteeism and turnover. High turnover rates can be costly for employers because it is expensive to hire and train new employees.
