"A trusty takeout joint is an integral part of any downtown neighborhood. And Metro Espresso Pasta, Pizza and Subs, tucked away on the ground floor of The Plaza apartments, fits the bill in Eola Heights. When the business switched hands last year, new owner Lisa Cibrian injected a taste of Italy into the menu, and added beer and wine. These days, the pace is fast and furious at lunchtime. There's a handful of tables inside and on the sidewalk, but most people call for takeout."

Great Little Place for Pizza

It's a great little place with good food for low prices. My favorite is a slice of VIP pizza (not on the menu, but worth a try!)But beware: word traveled quickly and Metro Espresso gets really crowded during lunch, especially since the construction started right across the street on Central Blvd. So if you just want to pick up your lunch you do best if you call your order in in advance. Metro's service is simple, but ok for a pizza place. You can sit inside or outside, pick up is available and I think they offer catering for office parties. Only problem: There is not much parking available, just a few meter spots in front of the restaurant and of course the Parkside parkhouse. Still, I never had a bad experience at Metro and I like the diverse clientele; at this place you find everybody from students with dogs over construction workers to business folks in suit and tie!
