Difficult to work with after deposit paid, poor attention to detail, little concern for a regular schedule, nothing to do with weather, changes, or family\staffing issues. 2 weeks of work took nearly 3 months. A French Pattern should look as shown, but was done with NO discernible pattern in certain areas.

Clear/level the side of my garage which resulted in use of a weedwacker, no root removal and never leveled.

Was told deck stairs would match the existing deck but doesn't given the large gaps/no miter cuts.

No sense of responsibility

On APRIL 4-6, 2014 we attended the CENTRAL FLORIDA HOME + GARDEN SHOW at the ORANGE COUNTY CONVENTION CENTER. Here we meet the owner of Hoffner Landscape and his wife. My husband and I booked a home visit to do our back terrace with Hoffner Landscape. The man came over as scheduled, listened to what our needs were. This is as much of the work he perform for deposit given.

He promised a designed within 7 to 10 days. 15 days later, no design plan and over three unreturned phone calls. They demonstrated no sense of responsibility. They ended up returning my deposit, but not worth time and effort.

I couldn't have asked for anything better! This family-owned business was just what I was looking for. My neighbor was getting their backyard redone; pavers, koi pond, everything. They were so ecstatic with the perfectly performed job I couldn't resist on getting my husband to call. Everyone we talked to were well informed and overly friendly. The prices were on point and I could tell that this was going to be a life-long partnership. If anyone asks me about my yard, I tell them to call Hoffner Nursery ASAP. Honestly, they're the only company I will deal with for now on.

If you're looking for a company that is beyond efficient, friendly, good on prices, and right on point, call Hoffner Nursery.

What a find! We are so thankful that we found Hoffner Landscaping, their design service was exactly what we needed! The landscaping is lush, colorful, and low maintenance, our water feature is wonderful and so beautiful! Tom & Kim were a pleasure to work with, and their knowledge exceeds anyone else in the business!

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! My husband and I thought that we were hiring a friendly, family owned business that would provide great customer service. Unfortunately, we were mistaken. We hired them to do a large patio and landscaping project for us. They were frequently late, dates for completion moved out weeks (not weather related), and overall work was sloppy. We had to have them back sereval times to fix details before completing the project.



Several months later, we went to install a fence to keep our child away from a retention pond in the back of our property. The fence installer showed us the survey he had completed for us. We discovered that Hoffner Landscaping had planted all of the bushes, trees, and flowers over 5 feet outside of our property line. It cost us over $750 to have all the items replanted. Hoffner Landscaping was rude and uncooperative when we tried contacting them on this matter. They would answer our phone calls, blatantly lie and say they would call us right back on the matter, and then never return our phone calls. It is truly sad that this is how they choose to treat their customers. Now we have to file a claim in small claims court and contact the Better Business Bureau. Save your money and time and go with another landscaping company.

Be very careful hiring this company. Tom (the owner) sounded great, explaining to us what could be done to our yard. Told us he'd never leave us high and dry with the plants. That if there was EVER a problem he would be there for us. Said that most of his customers have become lifelong friends. Well.....that all went out the window when several large bushes were dying off. My husband called and told him about them and he said he it was a disease that those plants are known to get and he would replace them the following week. The following week came and went and I decided to call and find out when they were coming. Talked to Kim (his wife) and she said it sounded like a "watering problem". We had thought of that and checked our sprinklers BEFORE we called them and they were working fine and were hitting the bushes just fine. Then she wanted my husband to send pictures. We did. Again....she said it looked like a watering problem. By now.....we knew it was going to be a struggle for them to replace the bushes. FINALLY she told us that they were out of stock and they would be in in 2 weeks. Again.....as time went by....I had to call and request when we were getting the bushes. So....they came and replaced 3 bushes and told us to water them every other day and if they did fine they would replace the others. THEN......one of the bushes was falling into another tree and not planted securely in the ground. I called and she sent our workers (one being her son) and they said NOTHING was wrong with the bush and she called me to tell me that. Made me feel like she was accusing me of lying or exaggerating the problem. It's funny...for something that there was "nothing wrong" the bush was then sticking straight up and in the ground after they left.



This is a company that once they have your money you can forget about customer service. I'd look elsewhere. It's really too bad too. Two of our neighbors were on the verge of calling them to see what they could do for them. After seeing the dead plants and hearing what was going on they backed off and are looking at another compnay. We were just too trusting. We really believed these people were great and would stand behind their services. When you see them at one of those home shows like we did......walk the other way.

At Hoffner Nursery & Landscape Supply we are a customer service orientated business, but you can never make everyone happy, but we did try. We give a 30 day warranty on all of our plant material; this is clearly in our contract every customer signs. This customer had work done in October of 2010, we were next contacted in April 2011 with the problems mentioned (5 months past our warranty and a winter with freezing temperatures like we have not seen in my recent memory), I requested that they send pictures of the problems they were having so I could evaluate what was going on. After receiving the pictures and 5 months out of warranty I had my crew replace 4-15 gallon podocarpus and check the other plants we installed. We informed this customer that large podocarpus installed on the property line will need additional hand watering, (property lines always have issues with adequate amounts of water for newly installed plants and turf, it’s in the nature of irrigation systems requiring a 50% over lap from all heads for not enough water to get to the very edges of each zone that don’t have an irrigation zone next to it, as with property lines.)Now 3 months later this customer is still not satisfied and contacted us again, I requested picks of the problem, and was again willing help them, this customer was not willing to send pictures and insisted I come out to their home (with pictures I could have helped them with one trip to their home, now they were insisting on my trip plus a trip by a crew to fix the problem, with an issue over a year out of warranty). As soon as they did not receive what they wanted here came the bad reviews and bad reports to the BBB. I am still willing to help them, if they will help me by sending pictures of their problem so I can efficiently correct their concerns. In this day of internet reviews and instant reports available through the BBB, a great company can be slandered on the internet even when they go above and beyond the call of duty. I don’t know how much more I could have done and are still willing to do for this customer so they feel satisfied with the work we have done, I’m amazed by a customer who is getting something out of warranty but don’t want to email pictures to help me help them. Below is the paragraph in the contract that all of our customers sign that states All new plant material and workmanship is guaranteed for thirty days (30 days) from time of installation. Warranty does not cover theft, vandalism or acts of God. All newly installed landscapes will require water on a daily bases. Irrigation systems alone are NOT adequate for newly installed plant material and turf, warranty supplied by Hoffner Nursery do not cover inadequate watering of newly installed plants, trees and turf. PLANT MATERIAL THAT MAY BE HAVING PROBLEMS AND LOOKING UNHEALTHY NEEDS IMMEDIATE INSPECTION FROM A HOFFNER NURSERY REPRESENTATIVE, PLEASE CONTACT US AT THE FIRST SIGNS OF A PROBLEM SO WE MAY BE OF ASSISTANCE. (Plant material that has been transplanted does NOT have any warranty) To those reading these reviews I am sure you understand that Hoffner Nursery & landscape Supply is a company that you can count on for all of your landscaping needs, and as much as we try I cannot satisfy everyone, I truly try to educate my customers so they will be satisfied with their investment, and have landscapes that will mature into the vision I have created in the original design. This is exactly what I was loo...

This is exactly what I was looking for. Tom the owner and designer came to my home and understood exactly what I wanted for my yard. A design was prepared for me I could understand. His crews are awesome guys to work with, they installed a paver patio and landscaped the front and back yard and repaired the irrigation system. I know have a beautiful your I look forward to spending time in. Thanks to Tom, Jonathan and Dan job well done

Terrible Customer Service!

After phone tag with this company we were given a date they would arrive to fix out irrigation system. The day prior Kim advised us they would have to resched... and told me she would call the following monday, Did not call, after calling with my number and not recieving a answer I blocked my number, as expected she answered!!! Again telling me she would call back...still No call.

It is quite apparent this company doesnt want to take the little job that help provide them new/future and referenced customers.

I have never felt obligated to write bad feedback on a company but my boyfriend and I are in shock that companies actually treat paying customers this way.

We did call the customer to reschedule the irrigation work they wanted, we were behind because of weather which is out of our control. In a industry when all of our services are preformed outside,weather does frustrate us as well as some customers, thankfully most understand. As for phone call to the nursery going unanswered anyone who has been to Hoffner Nursery during the growing season knows our staff can be very busy, Kim does return all calls ASAP.
