I'm just now seeing all of the poor reviews. A large sum of money was spent for poor craftsmanship and customer service. The project took weeks longer than expected and a huge mess was left behind. Additional money was paid for others to complete the project. Please read all available reviews before making a decision.

We hired Granite Transformation to replace kitchen cupboards. The job was contracted out to Blankenship's Cabinets. I found the job to be very sloppy and they left a major mess in my home. I had to write a letter to the better business bureau in order to get the job corrected. They doors were hung crooked the cabinet they added had nails sticking our of it and to top it off they left dust dirt and nails in the kitchen drawers they replaced. I would never recommend this company.

Very poor service, slow, and terrible communication. The alleged master craftsman who does all the cabinetry work is never available to answer a question or return a phone call. ALL communication must got through the office staff. Ridulous procedure for custom cabinetry work. Work is mediocre at best.

We contacted Blankenship to refinish the cabinets in our kitchen, laundry room and three bathrooms. Sue Blankenship came to our home, evaluated the project and took measurements. We then went to their studio and picked colors and hardware. On this visit we meet with Carla Blakenship, Sue's daughter. We were given a written quote of just under $9,000.

Blankenship came and picked up the doors from all of our cabinets to refinish them. They then called to say that if we refinished the Jack and Jill cabinets but changed the plumbing, the drawers would not open and could not be used. We had not thought about that and it was not mentioned at either previous meeting with them. We were told we needed to order new cabinets for this room. We did.

We later receive a phone call that the master bedroom cabinet will not work and will need to be replaced as well. We did that.

We then were told that they had accidentally painted our cabinets that were to be stained expresso. They were now painted in French country white. They asked if we were OK with them leaving them this way. We said no. They said that would mean they had to strip them and start over. They did that at our request.

I provided hardware with instructions to Carla. The installers drilled holes in the new cabinets in the wrong place because they used the wrong pulls.

The garbage can pull out was charged at $300 and was a $15 wire rack. I called and was told that was a mistake and they would replace it.

We ultimately spent over $20,000 to complete the project that was originally quoted at $9,000. There was no change in the cabinets to be done or the scope of work. Blankenship simply kept coming back saying that the original plan would not work and now we needed to buy new cabinets.

Finally, we asked for all the doors back from the cabinets that were to have been refinished. We still had all the boxes of the cabinets that were removed. We were told, "You should have told us you wanted them. We probably don't have them anymore." About 2/3 of the doors were returned making the remaining cabinets useless.

Blankenship was a nightmare to deal with. Their quality appears to be average. Their attention to detail is very poor. One positive is that they are kind and pleasant people, just not good at what they do. Go elsewhere.

Blankenship's is Great!! Carla was great to work with, too. She had so many good ideas for updating our 80's kitchen with new cabinets. My neighbors are amazed at the transformation!! The new cabinets were delivered on schedule and the installation was great!! Yay!!
