When I had to relocate to Houston for my higher studies, I got in touch with this amazing company that safely transported all my belongings from Orlando to Houston without letting my folks get any trouble. The service is excellent. A 5 out of 5 star rating for these selfless guys. Really impressed with the service we received. Awesome job by all 3 men

I called a few places to get quotes, but 1776 Moving & Storage had competitive rates, were available on the day we wanted to move, and came highly recommended from a friend. When I called I asked for a quote for: (1) them to pack everything and move it and (2) for me to pack everything and them to just move it. I was told it was an hourly rate and that rate was the same whether they were packing and moving or just moving.

The day of the move three guys showed up on time and ready to go. I know they came from relatively far away so I was actually impressed that they were on time.

Couple of issues or observations:

There must have been a bit of a miscommunication between us and the moving company because the only boxes they brought with them were wardrobe boxes which we did not need. We did need regular boxes for a few last minute items because we ran out of boxes the night before. We could have gone to Home Depot to buy more boxes, but we ended up putting all of the loose items (e.g., lots of books) in our personal vehicles. It was a little crazy, but I suppose it worked. Like I said, I chalk this up to a miscommunication since I didn't explicitly state that I wanted them to pack some items. In the future I would specify that I want them to bring some boxes for last minute items that need packing.

I was very happy with the way they wrapped furniture. We have glass shelves and Stephan took his time (in a good way!) wrapping the glass to protect it during the move.

Overall, I would hire them again and recommend them to others. I think they worked efficiently, were respectful of our things, and did not try to work slowly to increase the hourly cost. In addition, there were no "hidden costs" so you know going in exactly how they are charging you. It seemed honest and up front to me and that was great.

I've moved several times with other companies and these guys were definitely some of the best. They worked with me on the pricing and they scheduled 3 men to move me but on the day of the move sent 5!!! They were all awesome, completely polite, respectful, and extremely helpful. I really could not have asked for more. The price was guaranteed and service is superb.

I move frequently and I will definitely return to them. My dad was even there the day of my move to help me and after witnessing their hard work he plans to hire 1776 Moving & Storage as well.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This was my second time moving and as anyone can imagine, I was freaked out.

I decided to give 1776 Moving and Storage a call, since an ex colleague of mine, who moved to Sydney, referred me to them.

I gave them a call and they sent an onsite estimator to my place.

Jeff, the estimator, actually gave me a call later in the day to ask me what my availability was, and we set it up for the next day.

He came as agreed, and I walked him through the place, after which he gave me a price for my move.

It seemed basically not too expensive or cheap, but what got me was the guaranteed

price part.

''If you keep the inventory list the way it is right now, this is what you're looking at'' was his statement.

Needless to say, they stuck to it, and, after booking, I had the movers arrive to my place, very professional and fast, they wrapped everything up and just cleaned my place out.

Since I moved from Los Angeles to Orlando in the past with an interstate company, and got a bunch of my stuff scratched and broken, I was expecting some wear and tear. But, aside from a couple of plates that I packed myself, nothing got so much as a tiny scratch. I was blown away!

I don't usually write reviews, but 1776 Moving and Storage really deserved the effort I put into this :)

I'd highly recommend them to anyone moving they're absolutely amazing!

Five Stars With a Bullet!

After ten years, it was time to move from our first digs to our new home in another part of town. We had a long closing period between our offer being accepted and our opportunity to move in and we used that time to dot as many eyes and cross as many tees as possible.

We started looking for movers the first Friday of January for a move that was planned for the final week of February.

In between seeking quotes and actually moving, our date changed to be two weeks earlier and then back a week later (but still one week before the original moving date) and each time, we reached out to 1776 Moving and their response? "No problem."

When I had narrowed it down to them and one other outfit, they took the time to address my concerns over the phone and answer every question I could think to ask. Further, they were always available via email and prompt in their replies. They were gracious, charming and understanding. No one likes moving and though I was eager to pay someone else to do it for us, I was not excited to pay. They did as much as was possible to allay my concerns.

They have their own crews and their own trucks. This is not an outfit that simply handles the scheduling parts of logistics and then moves on, outsourcing the labor and liability to subcontractors. Their guys are GREAT. You pay by the hour and yet these guys hustled. What's more, they did not just hustle; they had a whistle-while-we-work attitude. Prior to last week, I had never met anyone who greeted moving with anything but disdain. 1776 Moving and Storage were great and showed me I was wrong - there are people who can enjoy the move.

They asked our input at every step of the move. They took terrific care of our things. Not a single thing was scratched, miffed, broken, dinged, etc. Further, they were equally careful in placing things around our new place where the floors had just been replaced (hence the triple date change mentioned above).

For anyone still reading this review, I would say that although their prices were a touch higher than some of the other companies we called, the price was all-inclusive. The hourly rate? That's ALL we paid. They didn't ding us for tape, mats, carts, fuel surcharge, or anything else. We did rent wardrobe boxes from them, but those are options to a move, not required supplies. They carefully protected everything else that wasn't boxed or couldn't be boxed and moved it without fuss or delay.

When we booked, they were only accepting checks and cash, but by move day, they had started using Square, so paying with plastic was easy too.

I cannot recommend 1776 Moving highly enough. I don't plan to move again soon, but I almost want to. 1776 Moving is the only outfit I will be recommending. They are just damned good and you will be totally satisfied with their engagement.

Well.........I don't know how I could add anything more to the superlatives already expressed by other clients of 1776 Moving & Storage great company. We had to close two households for a move to Tampa. Not easy, and we could not have done it without the expert advice and support we got at every step.

Communication was clear and delivery was as advertised. We currently have everything in storage and Scott is helping us through out the closing.

1776 Moving & Storage were phenomenal from start to finish. At the front end, they were quick and responsive to my many emails -- about scheduling, moving details, special requests, etc. They ended up helping with 3 different jobs: loading one piece of furniture into a van to go to storage, packing my condo, and moving my stuff. On the day of each job, the crew contact was responsive to text messages with last minute questions and called to give me a heads up about their arrival time.

Every mover that helped out was friendly and professional. It was clear that they knew what they were doing and how to do it as efficiently as possible. Just to give one example: a different moving company (on a past move) actually packed one plastic cup with about a half a stack of packing paper in one box -- I was floored when I unpacked it! Nothing like that here -- everything made sense.

A note: the packing and moving crews are separate. This was new to me, but made sense: the packing crew was less expensive than the moving crew and was not trying to fit too much in one morning.

I highly recommend this company!

It's been awhile since I've had to move. In fact, the last time I moved I'm not sure what I even owned outside of a few books, a mattress. So as you might imagine the process seemed foreign to me to move.

I got to be honest - I didn't do too much additional hunting around and when I received my quote within 30 min. of filling out my request, I was already impressed by the response time.

Since I'm a digital man, I was happy that I could quickly tell them via email details about my move; how many boxes, which items would need to be disassembled etc. They were very cool about being flexible and providing updates for them at any time leading up to the move but also clearly stated that it's to your benefit to give the most accurate detailing in order to prepare and execute the move in the timeliest manner.

With a 8:30 am scheduled arrival, I was impressed once again when I received a phone call at 8:25am to inform me that they were right around the corner so that I could make sure my building had the loading dock ready.

The guys (shout out to Will, Aaron and Chris) were so nice, professional and pleasant to be around.

Overall, just flawless and pain-free experience on my end. As for the guys, I'm sure they were a little sore the next day.

Excellent service--the office was efficient, helpful and courteous, as were the men who did the actual moving.

We contacted them on personal recommendation and organized the move about a month in advance, putting down a deposit. The boxes for packing were delivered, as promised, the week before the move--I've moved a lot of times and there have always been problems with getting boxes in advance, yes, they charge you for them, but reasonable rates.

The move was scheduled for 2 to 4pm, and on the day of the move they called around 10 to say that they could come earlier if it was convenient. We agreed, though it meant stepping up the pace of packing a bit, and we were still packing when the men arrived at about 12:30. They were courteous, helpful, and very efficient, taking our stuff down from a sixth floor apartment to the truck. It was all done by 5:30 in the end.

At the other end, they called when they arrived (I'd thought they'd have called ahead to give a little warning, but not a problem). They coped with a townhouse with a small elevator and rather awkward access on a sweltering day with good humor and efficiency again.

The billing came through on credit card, I'm happy that we dealt with 1776 Moving and very satisfied with their service.

After contacting several moving companies, I selected 1776 Moving & Storage and I'm so glad I did. Being pretty new to the area and not really knowing many people that I could ask for recommendations, I had to rely on internet searches.

My first contact with Don in the office really put me at ease. He did a very good job explaining their moving process and the pricing structure. He was very familiar with my current and new residence and loading dock locations.

My one bedroom apt. move took 3.5 hours to load. I’m sure it could have gone faster but my building double booked the freight elevator (duh) so we had to share with another moving company. My Movers Troy and Rolando were professional and patient throughout. At one point they even started helping the other company move items closer to the elevator to speed things up a bit .

I highly recommend this company.. A+++++ in my book.

In one word: Amazing!

One of my co-workers used this service and she highly recommended it so I went ahead and asked for a quote.

Since the first email, the whole process has been as smooth as it could be.

Precise and on-time communication, clear pricing and clear instructions on what I was supposed to do. If you follow instructions, everything goes smooth and quick.

Being in a work field where customers' service is extremely important, I must say I was really impressed with the kindness and professionalism of the entire staff who dealt with my move, from admin stuff to the actual movers.

Russ, Rashid and Ariel were the guys who took great care of my stuff: they handled each single piece of furniture and boxes as it was their stuff. It was nice to see. I also liked that I was told why they were wrapping or doing certain things in a certain way.

Everything was done on time, without rush, with great care and with a smile.

Even when we got a bunch of cars parked in my reserved slots, they were super cool and creativily figured out a way to make it work without wasting time.

I would use them over and over again and I am highly recommending this company. In addition it's a local business and I believe it's really important to support local.

I found 1776 Moving & storage while surfing online and reading some good reviews, I decided to give them a try. Well they were simply GREAT. I used them to move my daughter from Apopka FL to St. Cloud FL. The driver and his helper showed up on time, after calling me when they were 10-15 minutes out, to tell me they were on the way.

They were really super-efficient, very careful on how they wrapped everything, carefully organized the truck and made sure everything was securely tied down. Once we arrived at the drop off location the load-out was smooth and efficient and they finished in really good time. The fees were exactly what they had shown me at the outset, and I was happy to pay them with Cash and get a decent discount.

I will use them again without any hesitation whatsoever, and HIGHLY recommend them; the two guys Max and his assistant were really terrific.

THANKS - you guys ROCK.

They say 3RD times a Charm! Well, it certainly was with 1776 Moving & Storage. I've been searching and looking everywhere for the right moving company and finally got a recommendation from a friend/ customer of theirs. I was a little nervous at first, but I trusted my friends’ word. And she knows that I’m not a fan of moving companies nor do I even take the time to do reviews. The job was done in such a professional and timely matter, I had a very pleasant moving experience with these guys, their service and hospitality was A one. Thank you Stephen, Samir and Feday I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Kosta and Nick did a fabulous job on my recent move. They were punctual, friendly and professional and worked non-stop until all my belongings were loaded into the truck and delivered to my new home in Ft. Lauderdale. Also, there were no hidden or undisclosed fees! The rate they quoted was the rate I paid, no surprises. They wrapped all my furniture and carefully transported my pieces. Many of which were antiques, including disassembling and reassembling a number of items. They loaded the wardrobe boxes at no extra cost. Also, my former house was above street level with quite a number of stairs. No extra charge for that either!

I would definitely recommend, and would specifically request the team I worked with today. I appreciate their professionalism and integrity and the great value for the service they provide

The best moving experience of ...

The best moving experience of my life, easily. Ed was incredibly helpful in planning my move. He was communicative, responsive, and patient with my endless list of questions. On moving day, Travis drove up exactly when planned. The guys were super friendly, efficient, and clearly skilled at the impossible jigsaw puzzle that is loading a pile of irregular shaped crap into a rectangular truck and making it all fit beautifully. All of my things were handled with care, and furniture was placed in the rooms I wanted it in upon arrival. No chips, dents or scratches on my things or on the walls and door jambs. No feeling like I was being scammed, and no uncomfortable exchanges with sketchy moving dudes. They have my business again when I'm ready to leave this place!

I am posting this for my brother. He doesn't have a PC but was so pleased with his experience, he wanted to be sure it got heard!

I have moved several times and this was by far the best, least stressful, and smoothest move I have made. They were by far cheaper than some of the other places from which I received quotes.

I scheduled my move for between 9 and 10 on a Tuesday morning. At EXACTLY 9:00 AM I received a call from the three guys (Shawn, Kyle, and Marson) that they were caught in traffic and were going to be a bit late. They showed up about 20 minutes later.

I could not believe how fast they were. I went down and sat with the truck so all 3 could go up and get stuff. At one point a cop came by to write a traffic ticket, and I called one of the guys and he came sprinting down and drove the truck away so that we did not get a ticket.

I had a lot of stuff, and it took them less than an hour to load and only about a half hour to unload. The largest chunk of time was travel time. I took a car, and they beat me there in the truck!

I will be using 1776 Moving again, and recommending them to all my friends!

I used 1776 Moving & Storage for a move in early July 2013. I am really glad I did.

First off, I had lived in the same 1-bed apartment for a decade. I can't even begin to tell you the amount of crap I had. I had tons of boxes piled up around furniture. The only way my wife & I could move around our apartment was via these aisles we left ourselves. I was worried about the amount of stuff. Plus, it was a fourth floor walk-up. And just to make it extra special, the weather decided last minute, that it would rain... a lot... the morning of the move. I figured on 4 hours for the move on a good day. I was betting on 6 now.

Three guys showed up exactly on time- almost to the second. They were cheerful considering it was raining outside. And they moved all of stuff down four flights of stairs like it was all filled with Styrofoam. Just no problem for them. They loaded the truck in the middle of a rain storm and all of my stuff was still in great condition at the end. And they were making jokes and just as nice as could be.

One issue was, that due to the rain, no one could confirm whether curbing our sofa (our plan all along) would be an issue or not. If they didn't pick it up due to the weather, we thought the building would get a fine. Since I had the month to ride out my old lease, the movers kind of suggested to me that maybe I could make a little money on Craigslist if I wanted to hold on to it. They kept insisting they'd move it down, but since I had the time, maybe I could make some money. I listened to them. So, they moved everything but the couch. I was little worried I'd get stuck with it.

Then, a quick drive, and they started moving into my new place - one flight of stairs up. They finished in no time. Really. They unloaded the truck in probably under one hour. And just as they pulled the last piece out, the rain stopped. Of course it did. They were friendly, informed, strong, and fast. And there was zero damage to my belongings. Zero.

One quick note - they told me it was the same price cash or credit. That's true. What they either forgot to mention or don't mention is that there is a small fee for using credit (I think it was like 2%.) So, in effect, it's more expensive to pay with credit. But, whatever. They were so fast I didn't care. In a rain storm, they moved me in four hours.

After all that amazement, I had to leave town in an emergency. No time to plan. So, that couch that I thought I would sell on CL was still in my old place. It was the only thing there and my lease was coming to end. My wife called and spoke with Granger, and he arranged to have some guys pick it up and curb it for me anyway. Almost 2 weeks later.

They are awesome. You'd be crazy not to use them. Can't say enough good things. My experience was obviously good enough that I came on online to make sure I let everyone know..

Best Deal & Service!!! ...

Best Deal and Service!!!

You've ever moved in FL, you know its a shakedown in some form or other: 'flat' rates suddenly get lumpy ($2 per foot for bubble wrap!), guaranteed 'firm' estimates grow outrageous caveats (the old hidden '$5 per stair' surcharge!) and of course there's always some mysterious 'miscommunication' between 'the office' and 'the guys' with the truck, which is nobody's fault, really, just, you know, there was a 'miscommunication', that's all, and it's going to cost you another $775. And at the end of the move - ALWAYS - you find yourself facing off with some thuggish pasty face Soviet-era Bond film goon with red-rimmed eyes who's hinting at violence upon your chattel should you not come through with a better tip for 'the guys' (who are sullenly loitering about, avoiding your eye but making their presence known via ominous mouth-breathing and the occasional mutter). I've lived in FL for over 5 years, and everyone I know has had an experience like this. It's not funny. I recently moved again, and based on the reviews here I called Jesse at 1776 Moving (on very short notice). They showed up exactly on time with a co-worker named Justin, and they moved my stuff licketysplit, with no beef, no muttering and the kind of easygoing professionalism and can-do spirit you'd expect from a couple of Marine Corps combat veterans. And at the end of it all there were no surprises, just a fair price as previously agreed upon, a generous tip (gladly given) and that was that. So yes, all the 5 star reviews are justified. I can't recommend these guys highly enough.

Satisfied Customer.

This was my first experience with a moving company and during my research, I heard just about every horror story you can imagine. After exploring recommendations I turned to on line reviews and wasn't let down with my choice. 1776 Moving & Storage delivered. The crew called before they arrived and hit the ground running. The movers, Adam, Rob, and Carlos, were quick, efficient, and damn nice guys.

The only snafu in the move was on my side since I didn't know that I had to have a cashier's check for my first rent payment and it was Sunday. The property management company had an antiquated system of filling out a form with my credit card information and then faxing it off for approval -- this took almost an hour! While this was happening, the movers front-loaded the elevator and emptied the truck in an organized manner in what looked like a strategic staging to get the bigger items in first.

Each and every item was carefully wrapped and taped. They handled my collection of guitars with great care and everything made it to my new home without damage.

David, the dispatch, was in touch with me throughout the entire move and after to see how things went. One of the movers mentioned that they admired David as a boss -- that spoke to me. 1776 Moving & Storage isn't just another generic mover.

Moving sucks... but Pat and his team made our recent move from one city to another *far* better than it otherwise might have been. First the back story: we recently heard from Pat form 1776 Moving & Storage that he has booked a lot of customers over the past year. So on the one hand of course I loved hearing this story, but on the other hand, it made we want to see what all the hype was about. We got four estimates for our move: two of them just gave us hourly rates over the phone with no commitments whatsoever, whereas two came to tour our old house and provided very thorough bids with "not to exceed" commitments. Pat himself was one of these latter two, was very friendly but efficient, and provided the lower of the two bids. So now I had an easy decision given that Pat was offering both the low price and raving reviews. On moving day, Pat's team of three showed up on time and did everything you'd expect and hope from your movers. They were careful but hustled through the entire day, stopping only for maybe 15 minutes to wolf down sandwiches around the lunch hour. They were also courteous and clean cut guys who we just plain felt comfortable having around. Colm, who appeared to be the team lead, had clearly been around the moving block a few times and handled the day with impressive but pleasant confidence. Bottom line, Pat and his team get what it means to serve customers and succeed in this new era of amplified "word of mouth" accountability. I hope not to move again anytime soon myself, but will be more than happy to spread the word.
