I bought my first car from them. The salesman that I worked with, John, was very kind and walked me through the process beforehand so I would know what to expect. He made sure that I was comfortable at every step before we moved on to the next one. I went to a few other places before and they all tried to rush me through the process and make a quick sale of me, but Cougar didn't do that. I'm very glad I bought my car through Cougar Auto Sales. I would definitely recommend them.

My wife and I bought a van from Cougar Auto and it has had problems ever since. So much for their "certified mechanics" who guaranteed us that it was going to be a good vehicle. When we attempted to use the extended warranty, the warranty company refused to cover items that were clearly written in our contract. Cougar Auto wanted us to take our vehicle to their shop so that they could get their cut from the warranty company. We will never recommend this company to anyone.

Cougar Auto is a very dishonest company. Bill was unwilling to work with us and had very poor customer service. They shove an extended warranty down your throat at the time of sale. The warranty company (CornerStone United) does not honor their end of the contract.

buyer beware

I had a similar experience as Dave. Bought A Truck from them in the spring and they were not open with us about the mechanical issues with it. those issues have Now resulted in a Warped head gasket and $4000 in repairs. Buyer Beware.

I purchased a vehicle from Cougar Auto in Orem. I asked the basic question has a mechanic looked at it, I was guaranteed one had and said it was in good shape. I asked if it had been in a wreck, I was told it hadn’t. The vehicle was a 2002 Toyota Highlander. Two weeks after I bought the vehicle I had to put a new engine in the vehicle, $2,600.00. I found out from taking it to a Toyota Deal in Las Vegas that they were told that the engine was garbage. I also had to replace the air conditioning system which had been cannibalized, $750.00. Repairs were needed the rear wheel that had been in the accident, $450.00 and the radiator went out within 3 months. The only way I would do business with Cougar auto is if I wanted to over pay. These people are not honest, and have no ethics. Buyer beware when dealing with Cougar Auto, worst experience I’ve had in buying a car. They did give me a $200.00 check, and said you should be careful when buying used cars. Cost of vehicle $6,995.00, cost of repair $3,800.00. The only advice that was honest, don’t buy from them.

If I could add 5 more stars I would. Cougar Auto Sales is an excellent dealership! They are honest and have high values. I recently purchased and car with them and they were open and honest with me. I was anxious to get a car quick and they just recently acquired a Honda Accord that hadn't been checked by their mechanics yet but said they would back it up and they kept to their word. Later on we found there was a leak in the radiator and they replaced the radiator and followed through until we were sure it was taken care of. You don't find many dealerships who are willing to take care of their customers even after they pull away from the lot. I really appreciate their service and would recommend them to anyone!

Lack of disclosure

Read everything thoroughly. Granted,I should have read, but itook their word instead. Look up actual value- request an out the door price, look for lower rates versus recommended bank (even credit unions give dealer kickbacks) find out the carfax and region it came from (snow salt or desert) have a mechanic look over it and pay the extra $30 to do it. My car made a horrible noise after We purchased it. Found out it was temporarily fixed and not intended for a permanent repair.
