We had a minor fender bender on a car that was less than a year old. Off the car dealer’s recommendation, we took it to Dingman’s. I severely regret doing so. The quote came in higher than everyone else’s, but we thought the quality would make up for it. They didn’t get the car into their shop for almost 2 months, and once it did get in, it took a week to repair it. (After the fact, I got an opinion from a competitor, and most other shops would have gotten the car in within 2 weeks and it would have been done in 3 days.)

They were informed that this repair would be done out of pocket. The final bill ended up being 3 times what the quote was. This is somewhat understandable, as most body shops don’t know what all needs to be repaired until after the car has had some disassembly. Fearing this was a shop that took advantage of customers, by either gender profiling them or because of an out of pocket payment, I did some investigation. I Googled all the parts that they bought new, and they were on average $542.15 more than what I could find online (3 separate OEM sources). I knew calling about it wouldn’t get me my money back, but I wanted a little bit of an explanation. I called and got an estimator named Gary on the phone. He was EXTREMELY rude to me, and questioned my motives for calling. He acted disgusted that I was wasting his time calling in. He made numerous excuses to try to justify the company’s actions. He had an insulting tone, asking why I even wanted to waste my time calling in to go over parts. I informed him that because of the way he treated me on the phone, I would go out of my way to tell people to avoid Dingman’s. I said Iwould give them bad reviews wherever I could, and I would not speak highly of them on any social media platform. He almost sounded pleased when he told me ‘if that’s your prerogative, go right ahead.’





In conclusion, please avoid Dingman’s at all costs. I would give them negative stars if I could. I feel like they price gouged a customer once they found out they were paying out of pocket instead of going through insurance. And when questioned about prices, they were rude, short, and demeaning to the customer over the phone. Literally, any option in Omaha would be better.



EDIT - 3/17/2015: Dingman's has been proactive with contacting me about the negative reviews. Even asking what it would take for me to take the negative reviews down. They did not specifically state they would give me money, but I didn't know what else that could possible be referring to. I told them a dollar amount in the ballpark of my deductable, and they wouldn't entertain a number that high. Makes me wonder how many bad reviews have been removed about this place to keep their online reputation up. Just more information for potential consumers to consider.

I have used Dingman's a couple of times in the last year. Their service and workmanship are OUTSTANDING. When I was involved in a hit and run accident, they were friendly, helpful, and fast. They coordinated getting my rental car delivered to the midtown location so I could do everything in one stop. They were fast, and when I got my car back, it looked like nothing had happened to it. (and the damage that they fixed was not minor).

Today I took it over because I had accidentally side-swiped an object and had a scuff on my right front fender. I was not sure if it could be buffed out or if I would need to file an insurance claim to have it repaired. They agreed to look at it right then. (I was prepared to make an appointment). They then took my car in the back, and buffed off the scuff and you can't tell anything happened! Even better, they didn't charge me a penny to do this. They just did it because they are a good business. I can't recommend them enough. It's no wonder that they are consistently voted the "best in Omaha".

Bumper looks great, don't go with Hertz!

Going to give five stars because I had a bumber that needed to be replaced and it's looks great!But, and I will leave a review for them also, DO NOT go with Hertz. It's very helpful that they have reduced pricing with two car companies, Hertz and Enterprise, to have a rental car dropped off when you need it. I went with Hertz and it was horrible service. Austin was great but the manager, Laurie (?), was the one I talked to multiple times. Now I'm being charged extra for services I didn't ask for and she put it on the wrong card when I asked for it to be put on another. And of course, when I call in, she is 'gone and will be back next week.' Nice.

Had a GREAT Experience with Dingman's. My wife's van got hit so we got a rental. Due to work schedules we could only get the rental and drop off my wife's van close to closing time for both places so I went to the rental place and my wife went to Dingman's.



It took me longer than expected but imagine my surprise when I pulled up to find my wife and my boys talking with guy who gave us the estimate!! The shop was closed but he chose to hang around until I got there just to ensure they were comfortable and safe.



Then, to top it off, our van was done in less time than expected and looks GREAT!! They even washed it and vacuumed it out. No small task considering the two young boys who live in the back!



Thanks to Dingman's we'll be keeping the van a while longer.

HORRIBLE. Gave them two chances, fist they never fixed a problem with my window after three visits. Then they took a month and a half to get my car back after telling me it would only take a maximum of two weeks. Very disappointing. Never using this service again.

Do NOT recommend.

Didn't fix my car in a reasonable time, or at all. They never fixed the problem I had with my 2007 Honda Civic. I strongly suggest using a different repair shop.

Horrible Service

It took over a month to get my car back after an accident. That in itself is not a huge problem, however they continued to extend the date my car was to be fixed until over a month after a small accident. I understand it takes a while to order new parts then paint the car but this was utterly ridiculous. This hasn't been the first time having problems with Dingman's. After three visits to fix a window they never successfully repaired it . I paid over one thousand dollars for a broken window. That service is a joke. I strongly recommend using a different company.

Awesome Work From The Best In Omaha!

I wanted to thank you for all of the quality work you put in on my Chrysler 300. The price to fix the repairs was very reasonable and the amount of time that it took to repair it was amazing. Initially, I thought that my car was going to cost me more than it was worth but after having the estimate done I was very pleased with the price. They worked with my insurance company and made the process very easy for me to get my car fixed which could be a headache in itself. I received my car back and was excited to see that it looked brand new. I appreciate all of the people that I worked with over the week my car was in you shop and see why you were voted Best of Omaha so many times. Any time I have a recommendation or need additional work on a vehicle I can only think of one word to say, Dingman’s.

Unhappy customer

After I picked my car up from Dingman's the car door stuck and my back passenger side window was knocked off the rollers. I am a very unhappy customer. All of these problems are on the same side Dingman's Body Shop did the body work on my car.

Extreamly Horrible Customer Service!
