This is the most unprofessional company I have worked with. I hired him on April 24, 2015 to build a deck frame and a RV, 2Car, and bonus room secondary garage. I was quoted a little over $50,000 for these two projects. Well here we are to almost the end of July and all that has been done is a deck frame and not even a good one! I had to threaten to fire him if he didn't show up because he kept telling me that he would start next week for almost two months. The only reason I had any communication with him after the contract was signed was because I emailed him. He never submitted for any permits and kept telling me that our delay was due to this drywall job- who apparently now is refusing to pay $8,000 until August sometime when he can come back to WA and inspect the job. This apparently affects his working capital so instead of working on my job he will be using more time to make up for his lost income by going and doing other jobs I guess. I’m pretty sure that he took my money to buy materials for this drywall job instead of using it for my job only, because I have asked him twice now where my money is and he cannot even answer the question. After two months of being in contract he showed up for 4 days at 3 hours a day to work on my deck, most of the time unannounced and would just let himself onto my property. I finally fired him after being 3 months in contract and only hearing excuses as to why he could not start our job. I requested a refund of the $16,000 that I gave as a deposit. I requested $12,500 as the remainder to be refunded as I saw this amount fair for the deck materials and about $50 an hour for labor. He tells me that my deck was worth $7,500 in work! I asked for receipts for materials (he still has not provided them to me let alone tell me where my money for my job is) and he tells me that material alone was a little over $2,000. Ok so say $2500 in materials to be fair that means that leaves his hourly rate at $239 an hour! He and one other guy worked a total of maybe 21 hours over that few days and the deck beams are so crooked and off that I have ends that are not secured to beams in certain rows. He even had the nerve to tell me that at one point there were 3 people working at my home- I was home most of the 4 days he was here and never once saw 3 people. He didn't even listen to me when I told him how I actually wanted my deck and I don't understand how our contract says approx. 25 feet but then it really only measures out to 17 feet- when I bring this up to him the first time he gave me an attitude. The only work that has been done for the garage is the string outline and even that is crooked and one side is shorter than the other. He didn't even bother to double check with me about where I really wanted it because again no notice as to what time he was coming over so that I could be there. His emails from day one have been mildly unprofessional and I have mainly explained to me about someone else's project that he's apparently had a lot of problems on. What I don't understand is how he had a fully funded project with my garage and yet I can’t get him to be here and work in a timely manner, on top of the fact that I live in a newly developing community where everyone has enough land to put garages, etc. and needs fences built, why would you not take that opportunity to expand your business and do the job properly and within a reasonable amount of time. I have given him until August 3, 2015 to refund me my money and I have yet to get any receipts or time slips. He wanted money right away but yet when I ask for a refund and give him 2 weeks to provide it to me he can’t even refund me because he is trying to overcharge me for his horrible work. He hasn’t even attempted to refund me the $8,500 he originally told me he would write me a check for- to which I have refused. He will not even communicate with me in a timely manner to come to some sort of agreement about the refund of my money.
