My wife and I have bought a few cars together, the latest being her Jetta, so when my Kia decided to break and start spewing oil all over the place, we brought it down and Brian and Matt took great care of us. They gave us MORE than a fair price for the Kia and then put us in a beautiful, reliable Tiguan for a lower payment than we were making on our Kia. And they pulled us out of about 3K dollars of being upside down. Awesome dealership and great staff. Truly the best buying experience I've ever had.

I want to preface this review by stating I am fresh out of college and have limited credit history. I came to this store based on good reviews from friends and family to buy my first brand new car. The buying experience was great! Matt, my salesperson, was very informative and took all my requests into consideration while helping me pick out a vehicle. The management was fantastic. I sat down directly with the Sales Manager to discuss the deal and was then introduced to the Business Manager who would be handling the financing. I set up a closing to go over the final figures with the Business Manager for the next day and was extremely happy with the terms negotiated for me, especially considering my limited credit. Matt had a quote ready for me from my insurance company and the vehicle detailed and fueled for me in preparation for me accepting the terms of the deal and I drove my new Jetta home that day! I could not be happier with this store, everyone was super friendly and relaxed. Best experience I have ever had buying a vehicle!

This Dealership is absolutely amazing. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and super sweet. The sales staff is phenomenal with this understanding of the cars and being able to explain it to a girl who really knows nothing about cars. I had been looking for a car to get me to my new job, and I had been to several dealerships before. The other dealerships were trying to sell me cars that were way over priced and could have been huge issues later down the road. VW of Old Saybrook not only got me into a gorgeous Certified Jetta, but they also got me and my less than stellar credit approved at a rate that wouldn't kill me. The service staff is also extremely well versed in the cars and are great with fixing an issue in a timely fashion. I couldn't be happier with my buying experience and overall treatment here. I truly feel like I'm part of the VW family now thanks to them!

I had a CEL for a few weeks and brought my CC to an independent shop for diagnosis and they charged me hundreds to "fix" the problem with my intake manifold and ultimately the CEL came back. Then i decided to come to the dealership and they got me in that day, told me the problem was still under warranty at 90,000 miles and they were able to get my new intake manifold installed that day for me. Really impressed with how much easier it was to deal with them than other shops I've been to, I will no doubt continue coming here.

I recently had my 40k service done at this dealer and I can't be more impressed with the way they handled my vehicle from the minute it came in until it was ready to pick up. They have a video of all the work needed on my car which gave me a clear visual of what is needed which is helpful and transparent. They even gave me a car wash slip and vacuumed the car which is a nice touch. Very clean facility and helpful staff. I have been coming to this dealer since I purchased the car and its always a pleasure not to sure what these other reviews are referring to with all the negativity THIS PLACE IS THE BEST!

We have been taking our VW's to these guys for years but wanted to share a recent experience.
Our Passat was having trouble accelerating and the check engine light had come on while on my way to work in Hartford. I called the dealership very nervous that I would not be able to make it to work. The service person (Sean) told me to bring the car right over. When I arrived he had the paperwork already filled out, a loaner vehicle waiting for me and had me off to work within just a few minutes.
This kind of customer service is far beyond what I had expected and reminded me why I always go back to this dealership.
Everyone today is quick to write reviews that are negative and I wanted to make sure I shared my positive experience because I think these are more likely the norm.

Horrible... steer clear! Two terrible experiences:

First a year ago bought tires (through them) and had them mounted. They marked up my rims, and left compound and grease all over, including on my side fairings and interior of the car! Their excuse "we're not a tire shop". Then don't sell and mount tires!!! and advertise a special for it!!

Second: got detailed quote for oil change, spark plugs, and O2 sensor, was told it would be about $575. That's pretty expensive for those three items, but said to do it because it's a convinient location. After they did the work and I went to pick it up it the bill was almost $1000. They charged $585 for the 02 sensor alone ($385 in "diagnostic fees), and more diagnostic fees for the spark plugs. Even if they did plug it into the machine 4 times, which I'm sure they didn't, you cant charge $100 each time when your having all the work done at once!

$1000 for: Oil change, Spark Plugs, o2 sensor. OUTRAGEOUS. They told me I misunderstood. I wrote the cost for everything down as they told me, wath they didn't say is that they were going to plug the car into the diagnostic part 4 times and charge me over and over.

Figured I'd give them two shots, since they waived the labor after getting grease all over the car.

Do yourself a favor, if you need work done and you have a VW, Audi, or German car, go to XCelerate in Branford. For $1000, they took my engine apart and carbon cleaned it to new condition (showed before/after pictures) , oil change, brake fluid flush, road force balanced tires...

Just outrageous. Only way I would ever use them is if I was under warranty and it was free.

STEER CLEAR!!! (I'm not the only one to have a bad experience either, 2 co-workers had similar problems and used them because it was convenient...never again!)
