Welcome to “Cornett’s Secret Art of Praying Mantis Kung Fu” Hello, I am Sifu Wally Cornett and would like thank you for your interest in our brand new Kung Fu School. It is known as “Cornett’s Secret Art of Praying Mantis Kung Fu”. With over 40 years of martial arts experience, I am excited to offer a unique study into the world of martial arts. We are located in Nashville/ Hermitage, TN area. Our School provides students with Praying Mantis Kung Fu skills they won’t learn anywhere else because our art has been a secretive art. Our style is known as “Jook Lum Temple Chinese Boxing” is a version of Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu. Our art is one only passed down from teacher to student, without being described in manuals. “Jook Lum Temple Chinese Boxing” techniques incorporate a philosophy of internal energy Chi development, with short power striking, and pressure point striking which is intended for self-defense. But, Cornett’s Secret Art of Praying Mantis Kung Fu is about more than martial arts moves and techniques – it is a Chinese martial art which goes far back in time, when values like honor and respect were as important as any physical technique or skill. Here at our martial arts school in Nashville, TN- Sifu Cornett continues to assign that same value to honor and respect, and teach those qualities in partnership with all the physical aspects of Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu. Sifu Cornett insist on conveying to every student the notion that this brand of Praying Mantis Kung Fu is not merely a body of exercise, or some kind of athletic workout, but is instead a way of life. The student who adopts this way of life and understands the philosophy of Praying Mantis Kung Fu, as well as the associated martial arts techniques, will be a student confident in his/her ability, and at peace with his/her life. At Cornett’s Secret Art of Praying Mantis Kung Fu, we recognize that this way of life is not for everyone. Because not everyone will have the self-discipline to excel – but until you try it, you’ll never know if you’re one of those people destined to learn the mysteries of the secret art.
