The Oklahoma Corporation Commission was established in 1907 and is located in Oklahoma City. It maintains a Petroleum Storage Tank Division that protects human health and the environment by enforcing state and federal regulations and administers certain assistance programs applicable to the storage, quality and delivery of refined petroleum products. The commission also has a public utility division that provides technical support and policy analysis to the commission in assuring reliable public utility services at the lowest reasonable cost and assuring open, workable, competitive markets in the transition to competition. The Oklahoma Corporation Commission also has an oil and gas conservation division.
